Today is my doctor visit and I am better but I am so achy and tired. My doctor is very much a man and thinks I should jump right back to my normal life I am not sure what is normal anymore! I can not slep and when I do sleep I have the craziest dreams! I am takin stool softener but I am still having trouble with a BM and I keep getting cold sweats. I will let you know how my appointment goes...

Rose,
We have GNC stores here and it means General Nutrition Center. Is that what you are talking about? I'm so glad you are better today!! It's still raining here and I feel like I could sleep all day! I'm taking care of two babies with colds and a two year old with an ear infection. The babies are cranky and the two year old is just not feeling well. Poor thing. Of course I can't sleep at all when the kids are here, so I have to wait until tonight to get any rest. Thank goodness it's finally nap time. I have two hours to myself! Hopefully they will all sleep the whole two hours.

szargar, you should only do what you feel you can do and not what someone thinks you can do. I had my LAVH, BSO on May 29th. I did a little too much on Saturday and seem to have paid for it physically. I didn't do much as far as work is concerned, I just was too much up and about. I am very achy in the abdominal area, also when I urinate. I slept a lot yesterday and will take it easy today, too. I really can't understand how these dotors aren't compassionate, male or female. My doctor shows me nothing but compassion. You only have one chance to heal. Also, I had severe constipation when I came home from the hospital. Prune juice was the key! Hope your doctors visit goes well and you start to feel better!

Jasminy, Thanks for the kind words.
I hope you will be able to rest. I have a 19 year old and and a 16 year old I could not imagine having little ones I pray you get the rest and care you need for recovery. It looks like we both had our surgery on the same day and it is nice to know achy and tired is still ok. I hope my doctor is better today. I will let ou know. I have not been able to sleep at night and I always get cold sweats when I do any thing like walking or getting dressed my stomache is cramping a lot more today and having a BM again scares me... Talk to you soon and thanks again for the support!!!

I had my surgery on May 29th and came home June 1. I had a TAH and he took everything. I feel super today, it's been 2 weeks and I just had my appointment. I go back in 4 weeks for the last post op. This has been the best decision I've ever made. Husband has been so helpful and loving too. I love Hystersisters website. So informative and lets me know I'm not alone in this.

I am in the same boat. I feel like this Dr. is always rushed. My normal OB/GYN who I was with for 20 years left the practice to be the director of OB residency program. He did say he didn't want to discuss HRT for 6-8 weeks. I've been doing ok without it. I did start taking calcium with vitamin D but that's it. You sound like you are really down in the dumps. Just focus on feeling better and you and your husband will again be like you were before all of this. Wish I had some better words of encouragement. Always hear to lend an ear. Take care of yourself and enjoy your trip. P.S. If your driving on your FL,IL,NC trip,,remember to stop and walk frequently to prevent blood clots.
Hugs
Kim

This is my first thread: I had TAH and bladder sling on june 1st, last friday. Came home Sunday morning. This was the first day i haven't had to take percocet. also, not sure if the bladder sling has worked. i still feel like i may be leaking which is depressing. i feel like i was doing better on the weekend. i did go to the grocery yesterday but got sweaty and felt week, i don't think that was smart on my part. my staples are out and incision looks great, just can't get too comfy in bed. any ideas?

post op

hi i had my op on 1st june and am now up and about again. i was so scared when i went in but they were very good, the nurses. the only bad moment was when i woke up and i had an epidural which was supposed to stop any pain on waking but it didnt work at all so they had to dose me up quickly with morphine and i had a pump with morphine for 24 hours.they took one of my ovaries in the end as it was so surrounded by endometriosis and had stuck to my bowel, but i have one left and as yet my emotions are in check.my uterus was full of fibroids and endo too so relieved to get rid of that. have lost half stone already as have little appetite (very strange for me!)but drinking plenty and walking alittle. my hubby has been an angel and is looking after me so well ,we move house in 5 weeks so he has all that to do too poor thing!will check in again soon sisters take care all xxx
