Looking for suggestions for Movies & Books for Post Op time.....

Huge hugs to all of you in all the stages of Recovery!!! I don't post alot in here, but am reading the posts daily! The support in here is priceless........ especially when my funds are limited at this time! lol

I'm almost 3 weeeks post op and am getting restless! It's beautiful outside..... and in Michigan we only get like 4 months of beautiful weather a year! arrrgghhh Everything I love to do outside (gardening, landscaping, riding motorcycles, all the physical stuff) I CAN"T DO YET is driving me nuts! lol lol

I've read five books, watched movies on cable & am starting to watch the reruns of reruns! lol Sooooooooooo I'm just reaching out to all of you to see what your favorite books / movies are that maybe I haven't read / watched yet?? <big smile>

I've read nearly every Daniele Steel book. Sending my husband to get Mitch Albom's latest book "Just One More Day". I love his books! "Five People You Meet In Heaven" book & movie, "Tuesday's with Morrie". I'm going crazy waiting for the "Just One More Day" book. It's about a mother son relationship, the mom dies, then years later the grown up son spends one more day with his "ghost" mom. From what I've heard it's about how much MOTHERS are not appreciated by their kids till they are gone! lol I have a son that is in the Army, 22 years old, and I think maybe I should send a copy to him eh??? lol lol I would also like to read it for myself to appreciate my own mom who is still here. I luv here to death, and hope I learn how to appreciate her even more after reading this book!

My favorite book / DVD..... "The Secret" My thought process & gratitude has been forever more changed since watching the DVD! Well....... until the mood swings set in....... then it all goes out the window for a little while! You ladies KNOW what I mean don't you! <exasperated smile>

Anywhoooooooo ............. Let me hear your favorites and why, so I have something to do for the next month???? <huge smile>

Huge Enormous HUGS again to everyone who is in the "healing" but going nuts mode!

Sherri

I love Kevin Costner movies....so I watched lots of them during the early days of my recovery. I really enjoyed "The Guardian" about the Coast Guard Rescue Swimmers. And "The Upside of Anger".....etc., etc. Also, when I was home for two weeks before I could return to work, Oprah had just started her Road Trip with her friend Gayle....so that was alot of fun to watch, too. But I ended up having to tape some of the episodes because it was time for me to return to work before she was done with the road trip. I also enjoyed watching "Ellen". I get a kick out of her dancing around the audience.

Amy Tan, who wrote The Joy Luck Club, has some great books. They all discuss the mother/daughter relationships. They also have a lot of Chinese culture in them. You may like those.

Try the Diana Galbadon books on Scotland. It's a time travel series and the male character-James Fraser-is the PERFECT mad. I've read all of her books twice and love them. Amazon would have them cheap, or a book exchange. Good luck healing!
