Not sure if this is related. My mom had a hysterctomy a long time ago (about 25 yrs ago) but she ended up getting a frozen shoulder (about 12 yrs ago). Apparently she had a mild trauma to her shoulder and by favoring it, it locked up. She went through months of physical therapy. They told her if she didn't do the therapy that she would end up having a surgery to release it. It could be that maybe from the lack of using the muscles theyare getting messed up somehow. Ask your doctor if it is something therapy would help. It is worth it, I've never seen my mom cry from pain until then. I don't think it has anything to do with menopause but since we are all not back to ourselves yet it isn't impossible. Hope this helps. You can also type your symptoms into a search engine, doctor often times don't know what is wrong with people. My son went undiagnosed for 6 months with constant vomiting and waking up screaming. Turns out he had a brain and spinal tumor and the only reason it was found was because "you have insurance and we haven't found anything wrong with him unless you are feeding him so we will do a CT scan of his brain to make sure it isn't misshapen", yep that was what a GI speacialist said to us. So if your doctor doesn't find anything it doesn't mean there isn't something wrong. Sorry for venting but I am still mad about being accused of starving my child. Anyway, I hope you find relief.

little vern and CYW---This is weird. Is it shooting down your arm, causing quite a bit of pain in your upper arm and sometimes getting down into your lower arm? If so, I have been struggling with that a bunch and finally made an appointment to go in but hadn't considered it could be related to my other problems. Now I am curious.

My right shoulder has been uncomfortable and at times quite painful since surgery, I assumed it was from way I am lying etc......I don´t get shooting pains, or l ower arm pain and had to keep my right arm straight for last 4 days I was in hospital as my elbow vein was the only one left after having had so many drips and IV antibiotics........

hmm....

I think some of that pain might be due to how we were positioned duting surgery--and how we are sleeping now--I know I do not move much at night right now--so when I wake up, I have a sore arm on the side that I was laying on---and it often stays sore for quite awhile.

Hi 5th Weekers!

I just found this site a day or so prior to surgery and then have checked sporadically, to make sure everyone is moving along and what you are all experiencing in your recovery process. You don't know it, but you all have provided support to us "shy ones" as you've shared about everything from constipation to pain, to.... you name it!

I have pretty much been right in the "middle of the pack" on everything. I don't know about you all, but I subconsciously thought I would be doing really well at 4 weeks--have two weeks to slowly transition and then get right back at it by the 6th week...Hardly.

Anyone still walking pretty darn slow? I'm increasing lengths of walks and every day is progress, but jeez, enough of this waddling stuff by the end of the day. I go for my six week check-up next Tuesday and my Type-A personality must admit sheepishly, that she's not ready for a 10 hour work-day, pretty much on my feet. It's more like a slow walk, two hours of television, a slow walk, HBO on demand, a slow walk and then stay up half the night due to hormones!

I'm still figuring out the HRT stuff too--the headaches, insomnia. Nothing I can't handle after years of the Costco bottle size of Advil for cramps. Take care and thanks again!

So as mentioned before (I think) I overdid. At the 5 week mark went to formal event in heels & all on Saturday. Begged DH to dance 3 dances & that I would behave. Did but had a moment of too much fun (literally it was a moement but bad choice in movements) & next day hurt just above pubic line stayed painful & was still very very sore Thursday when I went to scheduled appt. Boy I jumped off table when Dr pressed on area. Was told no "muscles" were stitched so even tho it feels like I ripped something ultrasound showed no fluid in pelvis.
Dr is guessing but hoping I am not getting adhesions. She has no idea what it could be. I personally think it's a pulled ligament or muscle since I apparently couldn't rip anything. Anyway back on percocet (it's been 3 good solid weeks without pain meds) & now have to be horizontal. Uggggghhhh PLEASE PLEASE CARE CARE OF YOURSELVES
I start new project on Monday so praying I feel better quickly. Self emploued & don't want to loose client.

Donney

You are the very first person who gave me some comfort knowing someone else knew what I am feeling & the possibility that I will feel better. THANK YOU

Donney & Endocat: I seldom get dressed even yet. The closeness of shorts.slacks/jeans/ aggrevates my incision. if I had of known this was gonna be teh case I would have ordered a few "mumu's or those taftan things. I only have 1
I think I hurt myself a few weeks ago from overdoing, & since then I have returned to frequently going "potty"----Even though, the dr said I was healing well at my "5 week"[u] check-up--I am still hurting all the time. I too walk slowly--and am still stiff if I stay in one position for any great length of time. there are also jabbing pains that shift from one side to the other--I don't know what that is all about.--and I need at least 1 nap a day---and I was never a "nap" person. I will say it is better now than even the 2 weeks ago--but I am still not driving--and am not anxious to start. Nope 6 weeks will noT do it for me either--perhpas 8 to 10??/
