[quote=bessiejo]Hey Sisters,
I also feel very fortunate that I have had no real sudden menopause symptoms. I am not on any HRT yet. My Dr. wanted to wait 4 weeks to start, but I have not started because I have no major symptoms. I think I am having very light hot flashes about 2 or 3 times a day. I am sleeping good just like I did before surgery. [/QUOT

bessiejo:
that's great news for you. you and your dr. are wise to wait until symptoms start. i wish i didn't need it. i plan to try going off of it (i hear some women only have menopause for a year after having everything removed).

I too have shoulder blade pain (muscular, not joint).
He did an x-ray, showed it to me and explained it. This was done at an Ortho/sports medicine complex where there are 7 doctors and state of the art equipment - I called and made the appointment myself. They have a one stop shop. I knew they would know what to do without me having to go through 2 or 3 doctors to get there. I did not have time for that. I feel so much better.

that's amazing. the neurosurgeon told me it's not related to my spine issues, and referred me to a bone surgeon who sent me to physio calling it "impingement symdrome" with no known cause. he was given a bone scan report and i don't even think he read it. i'm going try finding out if we have such an "ortho/sports medicine complex" here.
thank you so much for the info. gives me some hope.
good luck with your treatements.

YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ! I can't believe that the doctors office went so great. He said that I have healed better than he ever expected and that I have no restrictions and he'll see me in 12 months! He did say that the longer I am on Premarin, the better and easier I will sleep. He suggested Lunesta, but taking enough pills daily, I replied that I wasn't thrilled at that idea, so he told me to take Tylenol PM when I am just desperate for sleep.

That I can live with...taking it only as needed not every night. The internal exam was ouchy a little, but much much less so than it was before the castle. I used to jump off the table when he'd do the pelvic and the PAP smear I would cry. Today it felt weird 'cause I haven't (no I did nothing naughty after all, my friends just wanted to make me sweat about it, the jerks...too bad I still love 'em ) had anything up my coochie-coo, and as he finished he said that I had the "perfect" pelvic exam. I asked him about the possibility of "phantom menstral cramps", and he said that in the 29 years he has been doing these surgeries, he's never heard of those before. "Those are just your insides coming together and healing properly." *using big, self-important, know-it-all doctor's voice*lol

He removed me from all restrictions, and when I asked about the lifting thing (over 15 lbs), he said, "You're young enough that it doesn't matter"

See what he knows. I'm still gonna pamper the for at least *thinking hard* 3 more months as far as lifting too much. I'd rather err on the side of caution for a little while longer, that way, I'm not back to see him in a couple of months because I just don't "feel good anymore"! Cause in 12 months, I am NOT going to see him...I am only gonna see my regular doc...I don't like the surgeon, he ignored all of my wishes and didn't prescribe the right meds for me when I was in the castle...phewy on him!

I sincerely wish that all of your exams go great in this next week or two. Didn't mean to gloat, but how often are people told they look "perfect" in any way, let alone an area that is *wink* in the dark to themselves? Hello, here I come again!

Update

I went to my 6 wk post op and it went great. He said that I look happy and when he examined me he stated "This is the first time in the 3 yrs I've known you to not look like you're in pain." Then made a joke about he could not pu it back no matter how unstaisfied I was! HAHA! You couldn't pay me a million dollars to take it back. The exam was not painful or uncomfortable at all! That is a first! Also, he said to resume my normal daily activities. He said inside and out looks "beautiful"!! He said I can exercise, lift what I want (within reason) and resume mild sexual activities again! I am feeling fantastic, better than I used to. I still get tired easily and and watch to not overdo it. Hope everyone is feeling good too!!

PLEASE, don't leave us
- we are all still in this together - and not ALL of us are at the same level yet; but then we were ALL at different degrees of pain, problems, etc. before. I never had endo or the other similiar issues (praise God), but I did have a uterus and bladder that was trying to see the "outside world" on their own!!

I have more good days than bad and I look at the fact that I AM feeling better than I was pre-op or even the first 2-3 weeks post-op. I AM so very thankful for the progress that I personally have made and get annoyed at the setbacks (usually from lack of energy) -- but it is so helpful to see the light at the end of the tunnel. That light gets a bit brighter each time I read that another sister "looks great inside and out" as I know my time is coming - as is yours.

Please keep posting and keep us informed as to what is going on with you, OK? As I said - we are all in this together -- some just got an 'early out.' We need each other to cheer the ones doing well and encourage the ones who are still coming along.

debbie: Ok--I will continue to post--I just let my temper get the better of me--I am so sorry--You guys have helped me more than you will ever know.

while I am feeling better every day--and not ALWAYS sore anymore either--( ) I am starting to dribble at night and today when i sneezed, i lost some "water" then too.--i am just so discouraged--- neither of these things EVER happened before my surgery.

Thank You so much for your kind words----
