hello ladies!
I too am suprised at how recovery varies from day to day and what a SLOW process this really is.
I was doing great early on and thought the end was in sight. I was told I could resume normal activities within reason at the 5 week mark.
Now at nine weeks I am really frustrated with the swelly belly by the end of the day and I am having a lot of soreness under my ribcage and in my back. I have been doing more but I have been really careful not to overdue it.
Hope you all are doing alright with what seems like a long haul!

I am now 10 weeks, and can relate to you luv2lop. I find that ice or my frozen swelly belly band is the only thing that helps. Sitting at the computer for long times makes it worse. I hope you will be feeling better soon.

I totally agree, its SOO frustrating and I am being exceptionally good for someone so independent but getting very fed up now with not being able to drive even 15 minutes there and back without pain, that starts after about 5 minutes........this is such a long haul and emotionally I am a bit all over the place even though I have my ovaries.......

I have also been all over the place emotionally, I have my ovaries too. I thought maybe it might be because I am so frustrated with this recovery thing. Some days I just want to scream.....I am so sick of feeling yucky! I really thought I would be all better by now. Boy was I wrong.

pain in my left side

Today i saw my doctor, I told him that I am doing fine except for the pain in my left side when i overdue it or have a hard BM. He told me to get a CS, I was surprised because I thought this is a pain that almost everyone has and it will eventually go away. However, my doctor said this is not normal, by now I should have no pain. I am now worried and confused. Any thoughts?

Thanks

The Butterfly's doctor is correct. At 2 months post op you shouldn't be in much pain at all. Twinges now and then, but no real pain. If you read the Checkpoints for weeks 5 - 6 (and you are several weeks past that now). it's normal to feel achey and tired at times. Although you will not be 100% yet, you shouldn't be in pain. Here's the link:

https://www.hystersisters.com/vb2/view_postop56.htm

If any of you have any questions or concerns about your recovery, please start a new thread in the Post Op forum. And if you have any concerns that are worrisome, please contact your doctor. At 2 months post op most women are pretty much back to normal activities.
