Steri-Strips

I WILL ask my doctor about this...I did a search on here earlier today, and couldn't find the answer I read here once.

I got staples out and steri-strips on May 30.

It's June 9 and most of them are still hanging in there.

Sooo....when is it safe to take them off myself, if it is?

I waited until they were almost falling off before I gave that last tug. That took about 2 weeks. If your incision looks good - go for it!

If they are bothering you, I would go on and take them off. Mine came off after 6 days on their own even though my doctor said to leave them on 7 or 8. It could have been because my staples were in there longer than normal. They wouldn't take them out because of my severe bruising.

The nurse told me to leave the steri-strips on a week. She also told me not to worry if they fell off sooner.

The steri-strips annoyed me more than the staples did.

They aren't bothering me...and the incision looks pretty good.

Think I will wait til Monday and call doc's office to be on the safe side...though I am sure nothing will fall out!

My final steri strip came off three days ago..I wasn't worried that they were still there, the better the longer I was told. My incision looks healed and healthy 5 weeks out.
I had more issues with the tape glue left overs.. had a hard time getting that off.

I would wait till there almost hanging off then take a shower and pull them off. dont want to pull on the inscion so dont do it while there dry.

'm just 3 weeks out, and i have 2 left. my doctor said to let them fall off on their own.

I had my staples out on May 31.
My doctor put on one long strip instead of pieces....I don't think that sucker is ever going to fall off!
