I agree about staying away from the Big Stores. Not only do you end up walking greater distances than you should, but it's a pretty high stress atmosphere in there, and you need some cushioning from that after the trauma of surgery (no matter how well you do). I watched only comedies and light drama videos after I got home. Keep your heart and mind peaceful, too!

Blessings,
Ecosister

pain and pulling also right side

Dont feel so bad, as mine is also on the right side mostly when walking and trying to get in a position to sleep at night. are we suppose to push our selves to walk more when we feel the pull, or is this just one of those processes? I wish I had the stanima like in my 30s, yet was blessed to have my last child at 43, I am now 50.. I have heard that I will even feel 10 to 15 years longer with time and patience..?

Blessings to all Princesses!

Hello bizzyb, let me tell your hubby the trip to Meijers was a nightmare!! I wont be pulling that trick anytime in the near future. I only walked around for about 30 minutes and Like I said, I felt like I hade been run over by a mack truck that had backed up and ran over me again!! The pain became unbearable. Felt like my insides were coming out. I came home and was done for the rest of the day. My doctors orders were strictly NO lifting, driving, housework, walking only small amounts. For 2 weeks. She said it takes a good 6-8 weeks for healing. And longer just to feel like yourself again. Also she said no pools, douching or sex for 6 weeks!! I read on here one gal doing all kinds of things just shortly after her surgery. I was hurting just reading it. Our bodies have been thru quite an ordeal and they need time to properly heal and for those of us who have had one or both ovaries removed there is even more for the body to adjust to. It is not just our body but also the mind and soul. I also am Bipolar so my family and friends are worried and concerned that this will affect my emotional well being. So far it has not. I have felt more relieved than anything. But I am 47 and was getting ready for this time in my "life". It just came sooner due to surgery. So for now I am at peace and will enjoy a period free life. I know I have to take it easy for several more weeks and I will resign myself to doing that. And this too shall pass. Take care bizzyb and do not push yourself. This is only for a short time. Take care of you. You are the Princess!

Just wondering how you add the information at the bottom of your message about your surgery? Is it added on the signature area? Thanks for any advice. and I hope you are feeling better. Mine was on 6/15 and has been an emotional rollercoaster since.

Hi there Sloan.

You just add this info through your "my control panel" at top right of screen. Then edit your signature. You can preview your work before saving it. I hope that this helps and that today you are on the nice, feel good section of the rollercoaster and even hoping to get off it. Keep looking for positive threads or even funny ones to read - this may help.

Take alot of care of you and feel better soon.

One and a half weeks Post-op!!!

Hello Fellow Princesses!!!

Sorry I haven't been around lately! My husband is getting annoyed with the laptop on the bed - there isn't room for him, and he is jealous! I too have "learned my lesson" as we could say, and got some great advice from my Sisters. (I posted a thread with a question regarding recovery). I was overdoing it, and trying to be SuperMom! I would experience a REALLY bad day after my SuperMom day. Including pains, additional bleeding, feeling like my bottom was going to fall out, and complete exhaustion. So, I gave up and got rid of my cape, and I am now a woman of leisure! I get up in the morning, and shower every other day (they REALLY tire me out ), eat breakfast, go for a walk , relax after the wallk, eat lunch, take a nap (seems to be REALLY important so I don't collapse at 6:00), walk a little, dinner, relax, and bed. My 10 year old son is helping with the 3 year old that knows that I can't pick her up, and my husband is grouchily (is that a word?) picking up some of the slack. My issues that I continue to struggle with is pain in my back (more so in the evening and at exhaustion), and BM's. So, I take two vicadin at night, and two stool softeners at the same time. My BM's are not as painful, but still not fun. My frustrations is regarding the fact that I can't seem to sit straight up due to pain in my bottom, and have to be reclining, so I don't know how I can drive! I am also really sad about not being able to take a bath - I REALLY miss that!

I haven't had any pain by my ovaries, but could it be with the type of surgery? Another thing to think about is getting your surgery report. I actually got my surgery report for my last two surgeries before my hyst, and was amazed at what they did, and didn't tell me about! Nothing really major, but I would have liked to know that they found a giant cyst in my ovary and had it drained.

Sloan - The stuff about your surgery is added in the signature area.

Take care Fellow Princesses! It can only get better!!!

I finally found this thread! Had my surgery on 6/14 at 7:30 am. Dr. thought she'd have to give me a vertical incision, but got that "monsterous structure" out where I'd had my 2 c-sections. Yippee!!! So far, I haven't found this to be too different than the c-sections, minus the crying baby in the night. I have been very lucky that I have been able to walk and do stairs pretty well. I even went out to some friends house for dinner last night. My only complaint has been these blasted steri-strips! My hair is growing and it's pulling. It's Sunday night and I don't want to bug my doc about this. Anyone have any info?

I know where you're coming from about the steri strips. I had surgery 6/15 and the closed my incision with dermabond and steristrips, no staples. I got brave and took mine off Friday because they were irritating my skin so bad. It feel much better having them off as they were looking a little gross anyway. Don't know what your docotr recommendation would be, so you probably should check in the morning.
