End of Week 3 and much wiser.

TAH and Bladder "lift"
Due to technical difficulties, this is first day back on line. (When it rains......)
TAH 6/13 went home 6/15--was too soon, but death of close friend--we were needed elsewhere.

1st day of surgery ok after we got pain under control.
I walked first day post op. DH helped me with shower. Nice..............
I over did it week 2. I hope I didn't cause probs. later, but my energy level was great and pain undercontrol.
Have since wised up and I rest more and limit activity.
Some days I'm really great, other days, I rest more.
Am taking 10 yr. old son fishing at city lake. I'll have to let him catch the big ones!
Best wishes to all fellow sisters.

Happy 4th to everyone!
To Marty07 and all those who think they are not healing quickly enough. I have been very lucky in that respect but I also was not ill or worn down prior to the surgery (just slightly enemic). I believe that made a HUGE difference. If your body is already struggling or your immune system is low, the recovery is going to be much more difficult. Also, any complications will add to the recovery time.

Listen to your body and take your time! Rest and take care of YOU!

I'm 3 weeks yesterday. I feel good. Some pulling at night. I went to the dr. on Mon. & he said I can do anything I want as long as it doesn't hurt. If it hurts, stop. I was so happy to get in the pool. It's been so hot. Dr. did an internal exam. I thought it would hurt but it was fine. He told me to whisper in my DH's ear & whatever happens is ok. All went well. Dr. even said I could go to gym. He said sit ups would be painful. I go for my 6week at the end of the month. I'm going to wait til then to go back to the gym. Have been walking around the block. Will start my park walks next week & see how I feel.

Hi everybody! Today is 3 weeks post-op, TVH. I feel great! My headache that troubled me for over a week, hopefully is gone. I had to take some Exedrine Migraine today, for a differeent headache pain, my "normal" migraine. The one that I had till then was at the base of my skull, very strange. But, a chiropratic appt and a really good massage, seemed to relieve that. I go for another massage Saturday (my dd is a licensed massage therapist...comes in handy ).

If only I could sleep That's my main problem right now. My head just starts working overtime, and I can't seem to turn it off. Everything seems worse in the middle of the night...MIL issues, dd issues, $$ issues! Everything!!

So, hope you're ALL starting to do better!

Hi Lauradid,

Glad your headaches are gone. Hopefully they will stay gone. I can totally relate about the mind working overtime. I am the same way. When that happens to me, I occupy my mind by watching TV or going on line. I need an adversion and this seems to be it. I am awake worring anyway! If that doesn't work, just give it to God. He helps!

Good - luck!

I am three weeks post-op today and the last two nights have me down. I've been having minor headaches (once a day) for about a week. I figured it was just from watching so much tv LOL. But the last two nights, it's even worse! AND I have had the wrost restless leg syndrome ever!!!!!!!!!!! It's driving me bonkers!

I went for my two-week check on the 2nd. Everything looks good according to Doc. He had to do an internal exam because I had a strange sensation the Monday before. Turned out to be nothing whew!

I'm not sure if my HRT will need to be upped or not. I think I'm running out of my own hormone reserve.

I hope everyone is doing well!!! HUGS to all you fellow Princesses!

Hey ladies how many of you are doing stuff thinking your fine but then come to find out your not. I had my abdominal hysterectomy on 6-22-07 and thought being down a week was and thought I was okay enough to go to the fair on Sunday, well I was wrong that knocked me out for like two days. Then yesterday tried to hangout at a party but had to come home and sleep for like 3 hours. Today I just did some laundry and cleaned a bathroom and now I am in so much pain... I hate not being able to function.... I am not of my pain meds so now I am taking Alieve every 8 hours. NOTE TO SELF DON"T BE LIKE ME AND OVER DO IT, YOU WILL PAY FOR IT LATER.

well I dont know what the heck is happening to me I feel like I am a mess. The last 3 days I have done nothing but cry. This morning I had my husband take me to the ER as my side where I still have the ovary and tube was hurting so much I could hardly stand it. Well after taking blood and urine and x-raying my tummy they concluded I have a UTI. Or so they think. So they put me on an antibiotic and when I came home and called my dr. office she said she can get me in tomorrow morning Dr. was in surgery all day today. I feel like my flood gates have opened up and I cant get a grip or something. I am crying over everything. What is happening to me?? Any thoughts??
