Hey Guys, I had a lavh removing all parts. I am glad that others are having vaginal aching. My tailend and vagina hurts as the day goes on. It's not bad in the morning, but by evening I sometimes need Tylenol or Motrin. I thought I was imagining it. I go to the md on July 27th. I am not ready to go back to work. I am wiped out by 6 pm or before. I also work night shift so that makes it even harder. I've also had trouble with my bowels. Foods that I normally love, I can't eat. I get gassy and my stomach hurts. I also have bouts of diarrhea. Lovely! Anyway, always enjoy hearing others input. tobasco39

I actually returned to work parttime on 7/1 and have been working 8-12. I am starting full time tomorrow with concent from my doctor. I have been a little nervous but it should go OK. Luckily I am an accountant so I get to sit down but I have to remind myself not to slouch and to get up often and walk down the hall or shift positions because I get sore sitting. I went to the movies yesterday and sat for over two hours but started to get achy after about an 1-1/2 hours.

I had my post opt appointment on Thursday. I was very surprised the Dr did not do an internal exam. He said it was due to the stitches being internally and not in the vagina. Actually they didn't even go in the vagina. My pathology report came back good. However the cyst that they found in my ovary was hemmoraging. (glad that's out) I am feeling alot better, just aches at night. No more pap smears! Very happy about that. All I need is pelvic exams now and then. The Dr's also said I will ovulate monthly. (who knew) The freedom of no more pain and bleeding is AWESOME!

Anyone who didn't go through this surgery does not know what we are going through - everyone of us are recuperating differently - only our bodies can tell us how we feel - so hang in there and wish us all the best in our recovery!

Hi all,

I was feeling so good the other day that I decided to do some clients (I do bodywork) and boy did I pay for it today. I was very careful but think I twisted wrong and lifted too much. Last night and all day today I'm feeling pain and had some blood discharge. (It was dark and seemed dried). Do you think I popped some internal stitches? I guess I was thinking since I was coming up on my 6 week that they would be dissolved by now. Haven't taken pain meds in weeks but today i was looking for some. My belly had been flattening out but now it got swollen and big again. :-(

So be sure to take it easy everyone. We must keep treating ourselves with tender loving care! We're worth it!

Loveisanswer,
I know the feeling that you think its all good then BAM it hurts.. I am going through that right now.. I go to the Doc in about 20 min and I have to tell him about the pain and yes I have some good swelling.. Please Do not do what you just did again.. I know its hard but the six weeks are for the first stage of healing remember that.. The dark blood is from the body discharge and healing the right way the pink fresh looking is something that either is fresh healing or if its allot you might want to really take it easy.. what did you have done?? I had LSH everything is taken but my ovaries.. so I am totally understanding how you feel..I am military and I do the body work on the aircraft so my job is really nuts if your asking for pain...LOL please keep intouch and tell me how your doing ..
YOur doing great just PLEASE TAKE IT SLOW

hello all

I was at week 5 post op as of last Friday, 7/20. I am doing great; moving, and bending, although still restricting my lifting. ie, 3 gal. water bottles, or cases of bottled water. I feel really great, no real pain to speak of, only some minor pulling around the incision area. I have my 2nd post op appointment in 2 weeks where I will have an internal exam. I took a bath for the first time last night and really enjoyed that. A friend told me it takes 2 - 3 mo. for all the anesthesia to leave your body, so I hung on to that for the reason my stamina is not 100%. By the afternoon I'm really beat, and even though I've lost 10 lbs. (not only through the surgery, but braces on my teeth, increased exercise and my dad dying in April) and people say I look great I have to really pace myself. I never had problems with BM's or pain after the surgery so count myself as VERY LUCKY. All of you with continuing issues with that my heart goes out to you. I am also very lucky be/c I don't have to go back to work for another 4 weeks, be/c I work in the school system, so am savoring every day before I start the marathon AKA the "school year". I've done a lot of soul searching the last few weeks, much of it due to losing my Dad and this surgery. I think in many ways it is a new chapter, having such a positive recovery and being surrounded by a strong support system. I wish all my hystersisters of the week of June 10th a great day of healing, recovery and positive thoughts. BTW, I've read so much this summer and have enjoyed the food network!

Had my 6 week post op today and Dr. said everything inside and out has healed perfectly and I can now go about my life! Don't see him again for a year. Hubby has been great and was looking forward to getting an "all clear" today but may have to wait a bit longer as he pulled his back out yesterday and I don't think he's going to be in any shape to fool around yet. He's a bit peeved about that! Glad to see everyone else is moving along as well.
