Boot Camp

I had a Supracervical Laparoscopic Hysterectomy 8 weeks ago and feel GREAT. I'm suppose to start a 10 week boot camp which includes 3 days of cardio kickboxing and 3 days of resitance bands tomorrow. I'm a very active person and have resumed my normal activites which include pilates. My concern is that I will develop scar tissue in the future if this is too soon to go back to this type of exercise.

Any thoughts? I'm struggling with this because I feel so good.

I think you should call to see what your surgeon says about it. S/he is the one who knows exactly what was done during surgery and will be able to tell you if this type of activity is okay at this point in your recovery.

Please do call your doctor.

Mine told me 8 weeks for any exercise except walking. I spent two hours inline skating on Thursday (week 7). I felt amazing while skating. Then woke up the next day with a searing, stabbing pain over where they removed my left ovary. The spot is tender to the touch now and I'm running a fever. I was hurting so bad last night that I almost went to the ER. I took pain meds for the first time in weeks.

I feel really stupid. I should have waited the whole 8 weeks. I just felt good. Now I'm back to week 2 level pain.

Spoke to the Doc today. She said "Go for it." She was glad to hear that I was doing so well. I can say it enough how happy I am not to have to go through the the monthly cycles I had before my surgery. I'm a pilates instructor. I attribute pilates to my fast recovery from my surgery. Love this website! THANKS!
