I think we should all go to Italy and sit by the water. Sounds marvelous.

So glad to hear everyone's updates and to hear that so many of you are doing so well!!

Today is week 4 for me and I am finally feeling better. I am off the heavy pain meds, having twinges here and there but that is handled by regular tylenol. I am able to walk further now, get out a little, and the fatigue is lessening.

I think my dr was right. The blood loss really affected my recovery. I feel like what a lot of the ladies were describing at 2 weeks when they had a LAVH. My doc said the first 2 don't count so that would make me 2 today. I am hoping everything is on the upswing from here.

I start back to work/school Aug 14. That's a few days prior to my 8 week post-op (or 6 wks by the new math). I am hoping I will be able to handle that. My dr appt for 6 wk release is Aug 3.

I had to change my follow-up appt today... so now instead of seeing my surgeon on the 30th, I get to see him on the 26th YEAH.... I have to then see the military doc on post on the 27th... such a pain always having to have the military doc "confirm" the civilian doc's opinion and directions for my care... UGH but if my civilian doc decides to give me more time off (hoping!!) the military doc has to put the paperwork in... soo aggravating.

Anyhow.... here I go as usual... ramble, ramble, ramble

I was cleared by my dr today to be intimate again, and of course my dh jumped at the opportunity, I too was afraid of the pain, but dh was very gentle. But be careful of deep penetration, it does hurt. I just hope it doesn't last too long.

I still have a slight swelly belly, but I have been back in my normal clothes for about 2 weeks, they are a little snugger that before surgery, but I find I feel better if I have on normal clothes versus stretchy clothes. But by all means I do feel comfy in the stretchy clothes when not going anywhere.

Hi Everyone,
Today I walked my 11/2 miles, but I walked down and up our very steep hill that we live on for the first time. Yeah!!!! I really felt like Rocky. It's four weeks today. I have a lot more energy in the morning now. Still have my swelly belly by night time. I see the Dr Aug 1st for my 6 week ck up. Yes I too am scared to death of intimate relations with my hubby.
I'm am very, very grateful for this site too. It's so nice to hear other peoples experiences. My family loves me , but they really are not interested in the nitty , gritty details.

I haven't been on pain meds in days now but I went out with dh and the boys last night. We took our sitter out for ice cream and then took her home. I was good most of the time but then the vibrations from riding in the van really got to me and I started hurting. When will this end ... when will it go away?

I am hoping another storm blows in tonight so that I can go walking some more.

I'm surprised to find myself STILL on pain meds... I did reduce the level from Dilaudid to Darvocet.... still only take it 1-2 times a day... but I really thought I'd be doing better than I am. Can't wait to feel "normal" again!!!

I wouldn't feel to bad about that! I am 4 weeks but you have a larger incision and repairs. I think its perfectly normal to still be on the pain meds!!

I still take Advil but I don't consider that pain meds. I take it more for when I over do it or headaches. If I behave ... then I am fine!

Now the questions I want answered ... When will I ever sleep again? And ... when will my ovary wake up??

I would like to know that too! I didn't have the sleeping problems until about a week ago and now I can't get to sleep until the wee hours and I still wake up early. The funny thing is that I still feel energetic in the morning. Where is THAT coming from???

Do any of you have a painful belly (inside) in the morning? It goes away pretty quickly but when I first get up or if I have to use the bathroom at night my insides really hurt. I thought that would have gone away by now.
