Back to the doctors today ... my primary called. My blood work came back to her and its not good. I have to go into her office this afternoon with dh for her to talk to us.

But first ... I need a shower and then a nap and then some courage to handle more bad news.

Okay home from the castle and let me tell you what an Experience i had. They gave me a morphine drip in my spine before surgery and there were't able to wake me up in the recovery room. So they sent me to PCP which is one level before ICU, they tried to wake me up there but still nothing. So they decided to reversve the morphine around 10pm friday night and that brought me back to the living so to speak. I then they gave me a norco for pain but that made throw-up, not fun after being cut open. So then they decide to give me toradol for pain which just put me to sleep. I was in PCP until Saturday afternoon, then I was moved down to the surgery recovery ward where i was able to stay awake for a longer period of time. I would say this is worse then C-sections and I have had two. So they release me with my staples yesteray afternoon, need to go back in 3-4 days to have staples removed. I was able to keep my ovaries and my uterus was 3 x the normal size. Still haven't had a BM but passing lots of gas. Hope everone is doing well. be on later with further updates. hugs to all

I got home from the hospital around noon on Saturday. It was so good to get home and finally into my own bed! I am sore and tired with stitches and staples. Everything went very well the doc told my sister and they are confident the cancer is gone too. I will now wait to see what the path report says.

My appetite is not back and I have been having trouble sleeping. I think that could be from all the anesthesia and drugs. This is not something I would want to go through again!

I am back from the doctors. My red blood count and iron and potassium and a couple other things are all low. For the potassium, I am back to eating a banana or drinking a glass of oj with every meal. The concern comes from the iron and blood count. I am severely anemic. My primary says I should have never been released. My blood pressure is up today though. 90/50 compared to 80/40 when I was released. She has ordered all my records and is leaving a few choice words for the hospital and my surgeon. I have to have more blood tests done tomorrow. They have to be either stable or improving. If I start to get dizzy, get any paler, or pass out ... I am to go back to the hospital to be readmitted for a transfusion.

To wrap it up ... according to my doc, this means for a longer tougher recovery. First my body will have to restore my blood and then it will have to heal. It has to do the first to do the second. She said to add on an extra few weeks to my recovery thanks to all this. So .... now we are awaiting new blood test results.

It's all done! Had everything out including lymph nodes on June 19. Went home afternoon of June 20. Stomach rumblings were bad for a few days, but took gas X and stool softeners from the beginning. That has helped tremendously. Have had numbness at the tops of thighs, which I've read here is pretty common. Biggest problem was the IV in the hospital. Was given potassium through IV before I could go home and it burned tremendously. My arm still is very tender and sore to the touch. Otherwise coming along well, just more tired than expected. Seeing the Dr on Thursday for results of pathology.
Have found this site to be so very helpful. Thanks for being there and best wishes to everyone for a speedy recovery.

I am so glad you are home and things are looking up! Take it totally easy for as long as you can. I am getting bored but it will all be worth it when everyone's healed and better. Best of luck!
