Pain in incision

Hello Sisters,

Does anyone still have pain in their incision? I am now having shooting pains in my incision. The doctor said that this is normal but I don't know.

Yes! I have pain on my right side only, right under the incision. I wonder why too?

I still get pain right under the incision when I cough or sneeze, or if I stretch too far. I've been hoping it is normal and not a sign of adhesions.

Hello Hystersisters,

Are either you or Arc369 lifting and moving things that are too heavy that could be contributing to your pains?

I had a burning pain in a few areas and it was because those areas were still open some when the dr saw and I thought they were too.

Scrubsfan,

I too am sorry that your DD is acting this way. Remind her that you've been taking care of her her entire life and now that she is "grown" for her to do for a few weeks is not killing her and you do thank her. Also remind her that if ANYTHING were to ever happen to her you'd be right there so she needs to keep that in mind too.

She can do the FASA like others have said and all of us have attested to - and that will let her know up front how much money she'd be entitled to for the year. Her best bet financially will be to go to a community college (most finances covered with grant) and then after completing go to 4 yr and transfer credits. She should still be able to get into community college now - if has started may only be week behind or soand she could catch up OR she can just keep working and start fresh at the community college in January. If she insist on a 4 yr. college and needs loans make sure their all in her name only - you don't sign. Then if she goes there and decides to goof off all responsibility is on her and credit/bills in her name.

Don't give up and keep on recuperating to heal correctly!

Let her see some of the stories and setbacks that some are going/have gone through on site by trying to do things before their body was ready.

We've since talked and seemed to iron everything out yet she hasn't returned home thus far. I went onto MySpace tonight and saw some hurtful and uncool things she posted in a survey bulletin that foolishly went out to me as well. Granted, this was done BEFORE our talk, but one of the things she said was she wanted to make it on her own without any help from me and without having to unrightfully apologize. Ouch! Even tho we technically patched things up, I think I might just let her "make it on her own" anyway.

One of the things we talked about last night was how she was out of her ****ed mind to deny me the opportunity for a full recovery. I made it abundantly clear that if I couldn't heal and recovery properly, I wouldn't be able to return to work and take care of my family like I always have. I treated myself to a $5 movie where I went alone, and she actually had the nerve to get salty with me about it! I reamed her for giving me attitude about treating myself to a $5, 2-hour movie paid for with MY birthday money given to me as a gift! I guess at 38 years old, I'm not allowed to have any sort of life, social or otherwise, huh?

Anyway, despite what my smart***daughter seems to think, I KNOW I did the right thing by taking it easy and limiting my activity during my recovery. I told her that the surgery had to take place because at the time, the doctor was unable to discern if the growth I had was cancerous or not, and she could honkerblonk off if she was expecting me to chance dying over inconveniencing her! Sorry if I seem harsh, but my daughter is out of her ****ed mind!

To anyone else given grief over putting yourself first for a change and giving yourself the opportunity to heal and recover, my heart goes out to you. I refuse to feel an ounce of guilt over making myself well again, and I hope no one else feels guilt, either.

Scrubsfan,

Has she made it home yet?

You shouldn't feel guilty because you didn't do anything wrong.

So sorry to hear of all the DD problems--can't be good for the healing process with all the negatives firing at you, scrubsfan. My heart goes out to you and prayers as well that things will work out.

I can't believe it but i think i'm on my way to normalcy for good!! The trip to the Bahamas was great--sprained ankle healed so quickly and i was walking fine on it everywhere -- went on a lazy river/rapids ride in a tube--a little scary & was more worried about re-injuring my ankle --even forgot about my surgery--no tiredness or pain --also now back at home--feel like my old self again--gotta get son ready to move back to college this week and then i'm off to 40th class reunion--hope Hurricane Dean veers southward and fizzles out by then--since my hometown is not too far from Galveston area -- and then i plan to get this body back to the gym for a go at the treadmill or something -- (the swimsuit wasn't too flattering with jiggly belly and legs)
Hope to hear that some of you are getting along much better by now as well. Just remember we all heal differently-- but there is a light at the end of the tunnel!!

Hi,
I actually logged on here to see if anyone else was getting pain on just one side. I am getting them on my left side right under my incision. My H was on June 5th. I still have some swelling just over that side too. I got the go ahead to go back to the gym but I am SO tired afterward. How much longer will this be that way? Thank you for your time if you respond.
