Happy New Year everyone!!!

I was officially off weight restrictions on Dec 22. I am still taking the whole weight lifting thing slow and over did it yesterday so am hurting today but overall.... I feel great!!! This was the best thing that I have ever done. It has improved my health in so many ways and I lost weight during this time. I went from a size 12 to a size 4 or 6 depending on what it is!! WOO HOO! No more migraines, no more pms, no more pain for months on end, and best of all.... no more cancer.

I wish you all the best in the coming year!!

Hi everyone,

I still check the posts every now and then but haven't for a while. Glad to see I'm not the only one!

The funniest thing happened yesterday...I was standing and did a big gafaw laugh and kind of bent backwards and all of a sudden I felt a "ping" in my lower left abdomen and I swear it felt like a stitch snapping! It was so weird! I have never felt it before and although it wasn't excruciating, it did hurt sort of like pulling 3-4 of those little hairs out from the back of your neck. It freaked me out more than anything. Has anyone else felt that? At my 3 month check my doc had told me that my stitches hadn't even begun to dissolve yet and at that rate she didn't expect them to be gone until for a year. Maybe they are starting to dissolve and for some reason that one was weakened and it snapped. I don't know but it was weird and I don't care to feel it again!

Happy New Year from Alaska!

Glad to hear you have been feeling better. I had an episode the other day that caused some bleeding, and it too feels liek I pulled something like a stitch. I guess we should just be happy that we feel better most of the time...lol.
I hope you feel better soon, Dont over do it!
Have a safe and happy new year.

Happy Holidays!

Best wishes for a happy, joyous and prosperous New Year everyone!

I have to ask - is anyone still experiencing swelly belly? I know it can take a year to full heal and the swelling to subside altogether, but I'm at the point where I'm having a hard time discerning what's swelling and what's me just packing on a few lbs.! That and the itching of the scar. Sometimes it's enough to wake me out of a sound sleep and that's exactly what it did last night! lol.

Anyway, I hope everyone is doing well and progressing nicely! Happy Holidays, ladies!

I dont know if it is swellybelly or fattybelly...lol. But is your scar area still numb? Mine is, and it is really weird. It itches sometimes but I can not feel the scratch. It is annoying. But other than that, I am going ok for the most part. I am starting a diet, along with 10,000 other people 1-1 -08. I hope losing weight will help me feel a little better.
Hope you and yours has a safe and happy new year.

That's exactly it. The scar itches, but since the area around it is still numb, scratching does little to help. It's like the itching comes from within. I find myself apply cortisone cream to the area to help suppress the itching as well as cold packs. Who knew that this late into the game I'd still be doing this? lol.

And yes, as previously mentioned, I'm still experiencing numbness in my gut. I don't really care about that except when my scratching efforts are futile. lol.

I, too, will be joining the ranks of millions beginning their dieting and exercising tomorrow. I'd been holding strong all year (with the exception of my surgery and recovery) - working out at the gym, attending fitness classes 3-5 days per week, etc. - until about two weeks prior to Thanksgiving when I used the time to gut my apartment, downsize, and prepare for the holiday. I haven't gotten back on the wagon since...and I feel it. I honestly doubt I could feel any more tired than I do when I'm not exercising regularly. But at least I'm good about sticking to a diet and exercise routine throughout most of the year, tho, and have been doing it for 2+ years, so 2008 had better yield some results! lol.

I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one experiencing swelling and itching - still - and here's to hoping that 2008 sees that come to an end! Happy New Year!!!

Been out of loop for while and not checking site. Glad most everyone is doing much better. I too still have swelly belly and itching but not numb and pus came out and went to dr but she said healed. How healed if pus came out of area only 1 day before? Anyhow I've been in TERRIBLE pain in my right and left arms and gone to regular dr - had xrays, etc. Then to joint specialist xrays, etc. and she wanted to put me on meds with terrible side effects so I decided to try accupunturist and have been going to him for about 5 weeks and NOW I can move my arms, can lift things, can pull my shirt over my head, can zip my clothes, etc. I am so GLAD!!! You may want to go to that extreme to try to rid yourself of some of the excruiating pain instead of the pills.

Everyone take care and try not to work too hard!

Hi everyone, Happy New Year

I to will be joining the health kick and try to overcome the the swelly belly syndrome and stress eating.

AS we approach our 6 month mark, I cannot believe its been this long, I feel great yet still battling some side effects. But overall still best decision to manage 15+ years of endo pain. I too have the belly numbness and the doc told me to "rub/ need the belly like bread" to get the feeling back. It hasn't worked yet.

Also having some baldder control issues, and have to see a urologist tomorrow to see what hey want to do.

Hope we all continue to heal and get stronger every day. These messages have been very suportive during some difficult times.

Thanks everyone!

Good luck with the urologyst. My surgeon for my hyster was also my urologyst... which helped a lot.

If you have a different doctor, see if you can get a copy of the notes from your surgery... it may help. I know that my surgeon also checked out my bladder while in surgery.

I currently take enablex for overactive bladder and the issues of tinkling when sneezing/coughing stuff. It helps a lot... it doesn't fix it completely, but almost. The best part is I no longer wake up 2-3 times a night to go the bathroom.

As usual... I'm rambling.

Happy New Year!
I hope you all are doing well. I have had some "pokey" feelings lately and have gone back to restless nights, but other than that, I feel pretty good. Started a diet on the first, but have yet to see any results. The weather here in Vegas has been nice for the last few days so I am hoping to get to walk a little.
Glad to see we are all at about the same level...
so we are all NORMAL!!! Yeah for us!!
