20 days here now and still not driving even though I was given the okay to do so last week. Just don't feel I am ready to, belly seems to be more tender now than last week, ughh!! On Sat. went with mom to visit family, out to lunch , it was my first time going out for 5 hrs and it felt good. Though on Sunday and Monday I was dog tired, wish my eneregy level would raise, lol. Other than being tired and tender stomach I'm doing pretty good.

dscoo, I too am still spotting, its always been a dark grayish brown from the start. With the flow you were suffering sounds to me that YES you made the right choice in having the hyster. We women need to stop second guessing our decision and accept that we did what was best for us!!

Itty, now I don't understand your doc saying you don't need to come back at the 6 week check up, how else can you know that internally you've healed and be cleared for frisky time??

Hi all,

I rested fort he past 2 days and I no longer have that spongey-headed dizzy feeling. I actually slept last night and did not have the night sweats!! I am going to out and about to do errands today!! We'll see if I feel horrible tomorrow. As one of my hystersisters put it so poignantly...2 steps forward 3 steps back!! My birthday is tomorrow and I am trying to think of something fun to do without fatiguing my self....maybe lunch and a movie?
I am too tired to get dressed up an put on the full face of makeup!!
I have not gotten the pathology back yet for the fast growing fibroid I had. i am hoping that if it were bad news, my doctoe would have called me by now.
Be well,
Janis

Hi dscoochie
I think our other Hystersister is right. We just need to quit double guessing ourselves. I waited 4 years of agony and misery because I did not want to have surgery and more than that I did not want to go through abdominal recovery again ( this is #4 after 3 c-sections).
I am sooooo glad I did it though. I haven't seen my pathology report yet, going tomorrow, but every test I did before always came back normal, normal, normal. But I still was feeling horrible. Now I know that at least the cramps and bleeding will be gone, Halleluja.
I am too feeling dizzy here and there, but I think it is just the recovery. This is major surgery after all. And I don't sleep more than 2 hours at a time and then I have to go pee. I thought again that was just getting back to normal stuff.
I do feel better though if I go out a bit every day. I have been driving again and when I put a pillow over my incision it does not hurt. But aside from being tired it really lifts my mood if I get a change in scenery. Try to have coffee with a neighbor or have someone over. Or go to town with a friend, even a half hour can get me out of the doldrums.
But having said that, I am 44 and have been in the twilight zone of perimenopause for about 6 years, so the mood swings are very familiar and I've learned to deal with them. Distraction works really well for me and exercise (which is a no-no right now), but distraction is always good. I sent an e-mail to all my friends to come and visit and they do. It's great. Who cares that the house is a mess.
Hang in there it can only get better. If there is nothing wrong with your bladder you could try some Kegel exercises, I believe we are allowed to do them, it will strengthen the pelvic floor.

Hope to send a bit of cheer to you with that post
Blessing
Angela

LOL... Well I have several other doctors that I see (labs two times a week as well) so I think she figgured I was covered by my Family doctor, My GI specialist, the transplant team etc. She just told me to call if I had any problems and I could be seen and checked by my family doctor.

Hi all,
Like everyone says some days are great & some days are not so great!!! I get tired easier, but not much I can do about it, just rest. We went to see a friend on sat. I went out on the boat for a while then opted to sit on the beach. It turned into a very late night & dh just didn't get it that I was tired. I took it easy on sun (2.5 hour nap) Ds & I are at the cottage with my in laws. I am getting ready to have a major fit over the 3 of them fighting over the 1 tv. UGH!!!! Everybody wants to watch "their show"
I am having some spotting again but since it is brownish I am not worried. My Dr didn't want to see me until the 6 week appointment, no staples or stiches to remove since she used "superglue" on me. I have started to rub Vitamin E cream on the incision.

Hi all,
Today is my 3 weeks mark. I am so glad to see others feeling the same as I do about the path report. I do know that there will not be any cramping or bleed. I have not had any discharge for about a week now. I can't wait to go buy new white panties.

dsoochie and musicalskibunny have you driven yet. As I said earlier I was driving when this dizzy mood happened. Now I am scared to drive thinking it might happen again. Maybe the next time I will not be able to pull off road, I do usually have my kids with me.

Happy Birthday Hasibaba, hope you have a great day!

Helen, what is a probiotic drink? Where do you get one? My dr. gave me difflucan and I just took the first one. I guess we will see. I was about dying last night from the itching. I woke up about 4 am and itched until 7 am. What a pain!

dscoochie, even if your path report came back with a million things wrong (as did mine) let me tell you that you would still be wondering. In fact, I was actually upset because I had so much wrong. Like, why me? Also, the path report still doesn't say what caused what, just that this and that were there. Now it is gone and the pain and bleeding with it, so in the end, what does it matter?

I actually drove yesterday! When we fled out of China (ha!) my 11 year old daughter packed herself (I was dying in the corner, literally) and when I got home from the hospital, I discover that she packed: 10 pairs of pajama bottoms, two ratty t-shirts and all of her flip flops. What??? So yesterday I just cracked. I could not look at her in PJ's one more second. DH had work to do and I was like, well, I am taking the car to the mall! And I did. I got my daughter three pairs of jeans and a nicer shirt, got my son a book to get him off the video games for ten minutes, got myself two nice pairs of pajamas, and brought back Subway sandwiches for dinner. I felt VERY independent, although I must say, I was tired when I got home.

Earlier in the same day I went to the dr. for my two week check up and...she did the vaginal exam!!!! I was nervous but it was nothing. I am actually glad to have gotten it over with. I felt really normal inside, like I always feel, and so that made me feel hopeful for the future (in my mind my vagina had closed up or shrunk or both!) I don't have a cuff, but she said everything closed nicely and I was healing well. I felt like I got an A on a test or something! :-)

Happy Tuesday everyone (day 18 for me....)

In a way, I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who isn't sleeping. It seems that the moment my head hits the pillow, my brain turns on and won't turn off. Then it seems when I do finally get comfortable (either in my bed or on the couch), that I tend to have strange dreams that wake me up.

Okay, I'm not happy to hear about anyone else feeling badly, but it does make me feel better that I'm not the only one. Earlier I was confessing to a friend over the phone how depressed I'm feeling, ended up bursting ito tears, and afterward felt much better. I really feel like a) allowing myself to go ahead and cry, b) sharing my feelings with a sympathetic listener, and c) some kind of endorphoe release occured in the act of crying - I think all of these are part of feeling better now. So, my experience says, if you feel like crying, go for it!
Besides my main concern this morning about being depressed, I've had several small things bugging me, and when I talked all of these things over with my friend, it really helpd a lot. I've been asking for and accepting a lot of help around the house - I guess I've neglected to do the basics of emotional housecleaning. So I feel better for talking about all these things.
I guess the same principle applies to emotional pain as gas pain - better out than in!
Anyway, I'm feeling some better, and crossing my fingers I'll be able to let you and my others friends know when I'm in a bad spot again.
