Ok.. first.. how the heck did we end up at page 39 so fast?!?!?! Wow.. I feel out of the loop! Well.. technically (It IS almost 4am) I am 4 weeks today. I can honestly say I am actually starting to feel a tad better.. finally. Ended up w/ yet another migraine Wednesday, (BTW, the percocet and phenagrin combined helped.. only took 3.5 hours to get rid of instead of 9!) And was just feeling nauseous and blah Thursday. I am not sleeping well at all.. as you can tell. Didn't fall asleep till right after 12am and woke back up before 2 when my dh was leaving for work. I'm sure one of my kids will be migrating downstairs in another hour or so.. so there goes my night. I can say that I did not take ANY pain meds yesterday!!! Now, I didn't feel good all day but wasn't in a lot of pain (except twinges here and there) until the evening and then I was just uncomfortable.. now kinda wishing I had taken something so maybe I could have fallen asleep but oh well.

Funny.. the thing that hurts on me now is my butt... guess I have lost a couple more pounds (that I don't need to be losing) and sitting down *I* can even feel my boney butt on the chair.. hahahaha.. that's a little annoying. Anyway, hopefully my nausea will go away by morning.. Hope everyone is having a great night.. hahaha.. at least I hope you are sleeping!

Okay ladies what is the deal with this no sleep thing? It is making me nuts I get soooooo tired and think I could sleep right where I am at. Then I migrate towards bed and BOOM wide awake! At least I am in good company ha ha.
Okay well thats my vent for today. Hope all are healing well.

Hi all... well at 4 weeks and 1 day and WITH DRS. APPROVAL... I had an intimate evening with my BF. It was nice. I was definitely a little nervous but felt good. I asked him several times if it felt the same etc. and he replied yes. I was worried b/c I have stitches in the vagina for the A&P repair that havent dissolved. I was worried that they would rub him. But he didn't complain. Didn't need any extra lube-- although I had some ready. I stayed on top to control everything.

As for sleep... that is still difficult for me. I have tried Alluna and Melatonin and it seems to help. Both are OTC herbal supps. I also have Ambien which I use about 2x week.

Work-- I am going back today for a 4 hour shift in the ER. It's just a trial shift so I can see if I am ready. Wish me luck!

Cheers- Heather

I can't believe its been 4weeks today, leading up to op days dragged but now I dont know where the time goes. Guess it means I'm ready to get back in the world fulltime. I am loving doing very little housework, laying down for an hour every lunchtime, working only 3hrs a day etc. etc. and dont want to give it up!! I haven't taken pain meds since week 1 except twice...once when I went to an outdoor concert & sat squished in a low beach chair for 3 hrs & once when I tossed & turned all night (ate something wrong & a hot night with no aircond.) so I shouldn't complain. Like everyone else I dont sleep well, some nights the herbal things work some they dont, I've taken to listening to books on CD with headphones but maybe should get something other than suspense novels! I only have small scars from lap. but been rubbing Omega oil on them (didn't want to buy vit E & had plenty omega) & am amazed how great they look. I dont see my dr till 6 weeks so intend to blow him away with how well all went....I am so glad I had this done & cant believe I waited so long......June 29 was a great day for many of us!

Dear sleep-deprived sisters,

Ask your dr about taking Benedryl. I have taken it for years. After surgery, it now takes longer for it to take effect, but I am getting about 7 hours sleep. Sometimes I get up at night to go to the bathroom, but I can usually fall asleep again. Ok, my sleep isn't normal, but the Benedryl helps.

Wow, week four is really a turning point, huh? I feel a lot closer to normal and it sounds like others do too. Yippee! I actually had a burst of energy and organized my dressers and did a lot of laundry yesterday. My husband came home from work and was looking for some jeans and I am like, "Oh, they are hanging in your closet." And you could see the wheels turning...old wife is back! But of course, I am not totally back. But still, it sounds like we are getting there. Finally. :-)

I tried Benadryl once and hated the way it made me feel in the morning. I was such a "medicine head" when my son woke me up. I spent a good part of the morning on the couch.
It's funny how one thing works well for one and then not for others. That's one frustrating part of all this!

I am hoping to get on HRT soon!!!

Off to take (or try) a short nap before my first shift back at work!

HI ladies, It's four weeks for me and I'm feeling good after TAH. Most pain is gone. I have really been careful in all aspects. Just wondering, I'm a server in a resturant and lift pretty heavy tray and carry them though a dining room. My doctor tells me I can go back to work Aug. 28. I'm really nervous about going back and carrying those trays again. Anybody else out there a server and had to carry heavy trays after a TAH?

I am healing physically. I am have a minimum amount of pain and my sutures are looking great. I'm at week three and 1/2.

Insomnia, headaches and hot flashes are my problems right now. Ahh, if I could get 6 or 7 hours of sleep, I would feel like myself again

Another 4 weeker chiming in, lol. Looks like so many are doing pretty good at this point. Over all I am BUT still so tired and belly is still sore to the touch. Haven't tried to drive yet either just don't feel up to it yet.

Goods:
1. I now know for certain the surgery was for the best, no more doubts.
2. Will never have to plan my life around AF the ole witch ever again!!
3. Sleeping pretty well, just wish I could sleep on my side again.
4. No major surgical menopause symptons as of yet, YIPEEE!!

Bads:
1. My facial skin is getting dry, normally I'm very oily.
2. My belly still hurts a bit.
3. Standing for more than 15 minutes at one time makes me sore. Went with DH to do groceries the other day and found out I'm not up to standing for an hr yet.
4. Back and hips are just now getting achy, yuck!
