My surgery was July 6th. I did pretty good in the castle, except I thought they were never going to feed me, made me wait until mid-day on day two. My surgery took 40 mins and my doctor said He was very surprised at how well I did. One good thing about having previous C-sections, it did help me when trying to get out of bed the first time - I kind of remembered the right moves to get out of bed without hurting too badly. I am home now, and doing well -- able to go up and down the stairs - if I dont try to do it too often. I am going a bit stir crazy and still rather sore in my lower abdomen. My other thing is I am kind of obsessing about my incision not looking "pretty" and trying to deal with the weepy feelings I get from time to time.

Don't worry too much about the scar. Think of all the prety panties you can buy now without any fear of ruining them!
Been weepy too. I think most of us have. Had my surgery a few days before you did, and have had two days in a row where I didn't cry once now.

hi...I hope someone is awake now. I had my surgery 7/5 (TAH/BSO) in other words:everything!!! I have been on Premarin for a week almost. I am having hot flashes almost continuously. I can't take this much longer. My body temp is always close to 100. I am going to talk to my DR. I also cannot sleep. I wake up with sweats. I sleep with the fan on and an ice pack on my face. Help!!! Deb

Try using (at two weeks post op I started with my doctors suggestion) Mederma. Ask your doctor! Oh and it's 3 a.m. and this is my second time up tonight!! I am tired of not sleeping.

Had my LAVH on July 5th. Feeling pretty good. Does anyone have to wear a mini-pad for daily discharge, mine is brown. Sorry to be graphic.

I had my LSH on July 2nd. I'm also feeling pretty good this week. As for wearing a mini-pad, I haven't need to but I've got brown discharge now. I went in for a one week check-up and my Dr did an internal check and mentioned that I might see a yellow discharge from the spray gel he used inside to prevent my other organs from sticking to my cervix. He also mentioned that he cauterized the cervix area. What I'm going to find out next week is will I have "mini-periods" that I keep reading about on this site.

Best of healing!

Hi Coll1952,

I had a vaginal hyst and bladder sling also on Jul 2. I'm reading where many are feeling great after this amount of time and I'm still unable to sit for very long. Bodily functions are back to normal, but I'm still very sore down there. And I'm resting in bed quite a bit. How are you coming along at this point?

Hi Doodles, I completely understand the hot flashes they may have to adjust your medication. My Dr. told me to wait 2 weeks and see if I need the estrogen. I just don't know that once I get out into the real world if I can handle having the hot flashes. I feel that I am better as far as the crying jags I did not cry once yesterday! but now I have ordered some additional vitamins to seel if that helps. I am trying the Rhodiola Rosea, Omega 3 and the Ashwagandha. It should be coming sometime this week. Right now I am taking B's, C, E, Selenium, CQ10, garlic and we drink soy milk. I also take an antioxidant a couple times a day Betagard due to the medication.

I had the exact same surgery, but only kept my cervix. Doc was afraid that a small bit of endometrium might have been left on the cervix and would cause mini periods. He included progesterone in my HRT coctail to prevent it - just in case.

Glad you are healing well too. Hmmm, that makes sense about the spray gel. I don't have a cervix, since I had a LAVH. I went to see my gyn last Friday, but at the time, I didn't have the brown discharge, but a pink tinge on the tissue now/then. I guess it is healing & most likely from the trauma when he was moving everything around & cauterizing too. Are you back to work yet? I started back on Monday, July 16th. I don't do anything physical at work, but sure miss being active...gotta wait for the 4-6 week mark he stated in case of getting a hernia. Take care and best of healing to you too!
