I don't seem to get too tired during the day, but honestly, I'm not doing a whole lot. When I go out, I'm able to be up for about 3-4 hour before I'm just exhausted. By evening, it's uncomfortable to walk and sitting for extended periods is still hurts. I love reclining on the love seat with a pillow under my knees, pillow on tummy for laptop (mine is really light weight).

Noticing that I'm eating out of boredom but haven't gained any weight. Need to keep an eye on this. I've lost just about all my muscle tone everywhere at this point not being able to workout. So I've actually gained more fat if I weigh the same. Not good! It's not fair that I have a Wieder Complete home gym, treadmill, recumbent bike and the only thing I can use is my tanning bed! So I have tan fat, aren't I lucky! It's fustrating but I'm not going to risk it until Dr. says I can slowly go back to my 2 hour a day routine.

All in all, I don't regret the surgery and I'm starting to feel human most days. Still will have a couple bad days a week. Not going to win a foot race any time soon. Still moving at a snails pace.
You are right take it easy.. I'm finally getting back into my exercise routine a mile at a time and at a much slower pace, some ab work and light lifting. If I don't get right at it after work I'm wiped out by 6:30 and ready for bed. Sleep is an issue for me, have not slept all night since surgery. When you get out of that routine it is hard to get back in, tanning always makes for a nice nap thou. I think the hard part is when you feel well but still have to be really careful with lifting, easy to forget. Have a great day

Hi just found this thread. I had my surgery July 3rd. Removed everything including cervix. I can walk around alot and do pretty much anything except run and lift things very heavy. Sweeping does pull on incision area. My worst complaints are not sleeping more than 2 hours at a time and HOT flashes. I am always so tired from lack of sleep.

Thank you! I think we have made it through the worst part of it My boss had to have scar tissue from her hyster (over 15 years ago)and her ovaries removed about 4 months ago at her 3 month mark she was back to climbing mountains! As her surgery and recovery were hard and long it gives me comfort to know this to shall pass and we will once again be out in the world doing what we love

How are you doing?

I get sharp pains that come and go at the hip level but right on the inside of them. I asked my doctor and for me she said it was normal. I would suggest that you ask your surgeon as they would be able to advise you the best. I do notice it more when I toss and turn alot while trying to sleep and when I really push myself physically. Maybe it our body reminding us we had major surgery and to take it a little easier Hope you feel better today

dry skin

Have you noticed that your skin is extremely dry after surgery? I have tried exfoliating and putting on cream, but it hasn't worked too well.

I probably need to be drinking more water so I have been doing that more lately. What helps me (because I'm not a big water drinker) is to add a slice of lemon in my water glass. The one slice will flavor 2 or 3 glasses. I figure that I'm getting a little vitamin C along with it!

Vaginal and rectal pain is much better. Maybe the 2 slow walks a day have helped.

dry skin

Yes, I noticed the dry skin immediatly. I also have tried using lotion and exfoliating. Your right. No help. My hair is also extremely dry. And by the way has anyone noticed there under arm hair not growing. I used to have to shave everyday. Now maybe if that once a week. I am not complaining but it just is so weird.

Yes I have notice dry skin and hair. I have been doing hair treatments to get moisture back in. My face is more dry too I used to be combo skin but now seems more dry.

I can't sleep either, but my back is causing me grief. I slept 2 hours Tuesday night, Wednesday night I could'nt sleep and after I took my estrogen I started feeling nausea, 2 hours later I started to vomit. That did not feel good at all!

Slept about 5 hours last night and woke up this morning with the migraine. Had a cracker and water and started to vomit again! I have been laying in bed most of the day. Finally this evening I had a cracker and took some migraine excedrine and my head feels better. So far my tummy is okay but it does not feel normal. I don't have a fever or anything else except this back pain and my tummy still sore. My husband said to lay off the treadmill for a couple days and see if my back feels better. I think after a surgery when they cut your stomach muscles it messes up your core and my back is paying the price.

Rest well my sisters.

It probably is the treadmill. I started walking 2 1/2 weeks after surgery. And immediatly started having back pain that first night. Went back to relaxing and felt better. So I went to the zoo. Again back pain before i even left. But, my stomach feels heavy if I am up to long. so I tend to lean forward and hold it or try to compensate for the muscles pulling.

ByFaith, so sorry that you've been sick to your stomach. You surely didn't need that on top of everything else!

I agree that relaxing and not going on the treadmill for a while will help. Another thing that helped my back is to be careful when you get out of bed. I noticed that I would twist myself out of bed and then my back would really hurt. Now I lay on my back, push up with my legs, roll like a log to the edge, and push up with my arms and that really helped. No twisting, no pain.

Hope that helps you too.

mindbegone/lovetosew: Thanks for the good info. My back is a little better, just missing one day on the treadmill. I could not have anyway I was such a mess. My tummy is much better today (kind of hungry though). I slept not too bad 1 1/2 hour of sleep, wakeup get comfortable 20 minutes later fall back to sleep 1 1/2 hour later wake up etc....but I was so wore out I stayed in bed and slept on and off because of how weak I felt. So I am back! I have continuing pain on my lower left side next to my belly button but I am thinking it's just taking time to heal.

I don't understand why my stomach get feeling so upset more easy but I will take it easy again today.
