Recovering nicely!

I had my LASH on July 3rd at 12:00 p.m. Came home on the 4th. I had a reaction to some of the pain medication they gave me at the hospital, but feeling fine now. Wondering with the LASH how long the big belly will last. My uterus was slightly enlarged and I had a few small fibroid tumors. I definately feel like a princess now, but starting to get the blues a little with not being able to go about my daily activities! I guess I need to pull out that crocheting!!!

I enjoy reading about all of your experiences!! Hang in there!

I drank a Coke. Seriously. I burped more gas than I passed the other way! (sorry folks) Also the chewing gum helped somewhat. You can also sit in a rocking chair with a heating pad. The walking around really worked the best for the gas pains though. I am still getting them occasionally but so far today they haven't hit. My incision was closed with dermabond so I have no drainage and wear a light bandage over it. Praise the Lord and praise the medical profession. No more birth control for keeping my periods from being heavy, no more fibroids, clots, heavy bleeding, taking narcotics for cramps......YEAH!!

I am home!

Had my TVH yesterday.I ended up getting SEVEN shots of versed. They finally just knocked me out.Surgery lasted about an hour.It took longer for me to wake up.

He thought he felt a fibroid but he didn't find one in my uterus. So he is thinking it may have gotten thick,or had some scar tissue. He is sending it off,and I will know something in a few days.

I have very little pain, the pain I have,I think is gas related.Over all I feel pretty good, just really tired.I have only has about 5 hours of sleep total for the last 2 days.

So it's official I am a

I hope everyone is doing well!!

Hi everyone!

Day 5 went out for a latte with DD and girlfriend. Didn't drive but I don't think I would have had any problems. Doc said I could drive as soon as I could hit the break hard. Sat with DD during a meeting about mortgages (they sure got more expensive since I needed one!!) Then drove by some houses she was looking at and off to the grocery store. Came home and took a nap.

I am amazed at how well I feel. Still careful not to strain or move too fast, don't want to mess up my one chance at a flawless recovery. I am fortunate that I qualified for the LSH and that my Doc was good. The help from this site was wonderful, thanks to everyone's suggestions and encouragement.

All the best to everyone recovering with me.

Hi Ladies!! Anyone else over-do it yet? I did yesterday and now I feel terrible. I was just on my feet a lot cleaning up the house... no lifting, or sweeping, etc. Just walking around too much. Well, don't do that!!! Boy, I am paying for it now. Take it really easy.... just like your doctor said to. This naughty princess is going to get back in bed now.

So happy to hear of everyone's great recoveries!

I have enjoyed seeing all my surgery sisters updates on how they are doing. This is great!

I am doing well also. Finally had my first BM today. What a relief! Not much, but good enough for now!

prege33-
yes I hear ya on the overdoing it-felt GREAT yesterday am so went about some normal household stuff (bill paying, straightening up etc) and last night I was wiped out.
Any other ladies that had LSH have pain when they sit down or get up from sitting, or lying down? I'm sure it's normal-but that's the ONLY time it hurts so just curious how others pain level is. Trying to use arms to manuver myself up-but occasionally it feels as if something is "pulling" in there...ugh-
trying to avoid vocodin and stick to advil-but broke down last night. GasX has been a godsend..really-the gas seems to be lighter and thanks to light laxatives-yesterday's BM counted as the 1st real one...what a relief that was!!

Woo Hoo back to the couch to watch movies

Bulagal

I have the feeling that my insides are gonna come out. Do you have that? Like a throbbing almost.

I had a small piece of something come out of me the other day when I pee'd. Grossed me out!!! (Is this TMI?) Had my first small BM today. Whoo hoo! My tummy muscles feel very tight also. Weighed myslef and lost 5 pounds since surgery day. Haven't really had much gas pain though. Just in my right shoulder. Been passing gas since day one.

Pain Free-
Thank Goodness you know what I'm talking about!!! I'm sure it's normal-just needed re assurance!!
I also lost 5 pounds!! Hope it STAYS OFF!! The 1st day home tho- I got on the scale and was actually 3 pounds UP! Must have been all the fluids? who knows.
I've been drinking these yummy protein drinks from Trader Joes to be sure to get enough protein (they have 21 (one kind) and 35 (other kind) grams per can) I think it's very important to the healing process to get enough protein-and I haven't really eaten too much....

feel Good!
