I am so upset right now I had my C.T. Scan today and just I received a phone call already this evening. My surgeon said the wall of my colon has thickened and she thinks I have a bowel infection she called it a difuse colitis. She said there is a small chance on it being endo.

She order up a V-Pack (I guess it's antibiotics) and said if my fever spikes or I get sick go to the ER right away.

ALSO....she wants me to see a GI doctor next week and have some tests done. I am so tired of TESTS you see during my surgery a couple things happened. My colon got nicked during the removel of adhesions and I had a mass of endo in or attached to my colon that had to be removed. My guess is during this process an infection started.

So one surgery leads to more stuff. I just need to get over this. I just can't believe this. Hopefully the V-pack will stop the severe pain and now diarrhea. I just have to hang in there. This is a bump in the road to my recovery.

gosh i am so sorry byfaith. I am going to keep you in my prayers. I'm in pain today myself. My doctor doesnt think it is endo though as he is pretty sure that he removed it all. He mentioned that it may be nerve damage.???? that is so strange to me because it is the exact same pain that i had before the surgery....

Just like you I belong to the later hystersisters and I read your symptoms. They sound just like mine. Did they do anything with your colon? Did you get your path report and surgeon report? I also have a low grade fever anywhere from 99.6 to 100.9. Side pain that wraps around my mid section and very tired.

i havent taken my temperature. I guess it wouldnt hurt to buy a thermometer. I had a colonoscopy done just before the surgery and it came back normal. I dont have a copy of my path report or surgery report. My doctor didnt offer a copy at my post op visit and I was embarrassed to ask. But my pain is constant for two days now and its worse at night when I'm lying down.

I completely understand. I went right down to medical records at the hospital and said I need a copy of my path report and my surgery report. I showed her my I.D. and she brought it up on the computer and printed it out for me. I feel the same way I would have a hard time asking the Dr. for it. But this was good. Of course, she would not want to tell me about her nicking my colon. I don't blame her she is awesome but it's nice to know what went on. This is a good way for you to find out EXACTLY what went on during your surgery.

P.S. some of it freaks you out a little.

Well, I finished my first week back to work. The first day was the hardest but by today I was fine. I'm still more tired than I used to be but I'm getting stronger every day. I've even been taking the stairs at work instead of the elevator and feel great. I'm so glad I had this surgery!

Phillipians and ByFaith,

I am praying for both of you and hope you are better soon. Don't be discouraged. I'm sure they will get to the bottom of the problems and put you both back on the right path. Please keep us posted. We care.

I went to school today. Don't have my students until tomorrow but was working on some things. I didn't feel as though I had overdone it, but started to feel uncomfortable like there was pressure in the vaginal area. Now I'm a little worried so I'm taking some Tylenol and going to bed early. I need to feel better by tomorrow. I have 25 students coming.

I was feeling so good and now this the day before school starts. I've heard that you have some good days and then a day where it's not so good.

Thank you lovetosew

Thank you for the well wishes! I am still trying to figure out what I need to do. Things are pretty strange for me right now, not feeling like I should.

But when I know more after I finish the antibiotics and see another specialist I'll fill you in.

Up and Running!

Back to Work August 9th. In the ER with dehydration and severe nausea August 1. Post Op checkup yesterday. So glad to be at the end of this! The only problem is that I have become an insomniac and I LOVE my sleep.

The best part ... I NEVER HAVE A lay in bed crampy, bleed through 3 pairs of pants, worry about what I wear, is there anything showing spots PERIOD AGAIN!!!!

Thank you for keeping me in your prayers. Please continue to do so. That dull pain is still there but resting over the weekend helped a little. I have no idea what could be causing that pain. I've had it for a very long time all the while we were attributing the pain to the endometriosis that I had, thus the hysterectomy. I'm not sure what to do about it next. My doctor said physical therapy if the pain continues. I am going to see how i do this week. not so bad yesterday and today. the pain occurs at night. so weird. anyway, i hope you are feeling better after taking the tylenol. i have 25 students too. its exhausting. keep us posted and keep praying. i will pray for you too
