That is odd that it occurs usually at night unless it's after you had a hard day or did too much. How are you doing at school? I teach 3rd grade and I'm on my feet a lot. I did pretty well today but came right home and rested for about 45 min. It helped.

I'm throwing out this question to everyone. During this recovery time I lost about 8 lbs. which surprised me because I spent a lot of time in bed resting. But my stomach just won't go down. Sometimes it's flatter than at other times but since I've been working on my classroom this last week it's pretty round. Is this happening to anyone else?

Hugs to all!

I wish I lost weight, but I havent. I'm still a size 10 which is what i was before the surgery. however, I do still have a swelly belly starting in the evenings. in the mornings i wake up with less. Oh, I teach "K" so i dont sit all day. I dont even have a desk. The weekend made a huge difference in how I felt.

Hello

I finally heard from the drs and she wants me to get a Colonoscopy YIKS. The report read either colitis or endo. My Dr. thinks she got out all the endo. They are to call me and set up an appt. "Hurry up and wait". It's my story.

Lovetosew, you can lose muscle mass quite quickly and muscle weighs more then fat. So with us laying around the scale can show we lost weight but it's not the good kind (like fat) it's muscle. You will build it again along with your stomach muscles and all will go down.

When your thinking about it suck in your tummy. That strenghtens your muscles while your up and running. 's to everyone!

ByFaith,

I read where colitis tends to run in families. Do you have anyone in your family with it? It sounds very treatable from what they say (if that's even what it is).

Thanks for the insight with the weight thing.

Not a sole. I have never had any problem what so ever in that area. How strange. But I have also read that stress can bring it on. When I look at the fact that 2 weeks before my surgery I ended up on BP medication and now this. Maybe inside I am more stressed than I think....I just don't know????????

Hi all!

Our little forum has been pretty quiet lately so I'm going to throw in my 2 cents.

I went back to school this week and it wasn't as bad as I thought it might be. I did a lot of standing and going up and down steps. I'm still feeling pressure down below and that makes me nervous, but no pain so that's good.

Also the urine leakage has eased up so that makes me hopeful that it is controllable.

Hope you are doing well. Let me know how things are now that we have to jump back into real life again!

I've been back at work two weeks now, went back at seven weeks after a TAH (bikini cut). My first week they had me doing computer work in the back so I didn't have to work the front counter. I was still exhausted! Last week I was back up front. The only really rough day was Friday when it was so busy we didn't get to take our breaks, only a lunch break. When I got off, I came straight home, ate with my daughter, and then we layed in the bed and watched tv and rested. I'm still big on the resting!

I think my recovery has gone so well because all I did for six weeks was walk and rest. I know a lot of people walk mega miles, but I'm not one of them! I'm up to 2 miles this morning and feel like I've really done something. I drink lots of water and still rest whenever I can.

I really thought this experience was going to be a whole lot worse than it has been. I'm really glad to say that I feel pretty much back to normal except for lifting and NO MORE PERIODS!

So glad you're coming along so well, Ohmightyv. I'm still resting when I can, but my energy level is improving.

I'm still not lifting much yet either. So many people I speak with say not to lift for a loooong time (6 mos. to a year!!). I need to see what my dr says about that.

I need to drink more water than I am. When I was recovering I drank more and now I see I'm slipping into old habits of only one or two glasses a day.

I am happy to report that I am back to "normal" if there is such a thing. I have been feeling great for the past 4 or 5 weeks. I had a uterine prolapse that was so bad that it wasn't a question If I needed the surgery but how long I could go without it. I was so uncomfortable that just walking across the room felt like it would fall out. I am back to walking and life is continuing the way it should be. I am so glad I had the surgery and that it is behind me. I agonized for months over this. My hospital experience was anything but pleasant and because the painkillers made me sick I was off all drugs except for tylenol 3 days after the surgery. It was a slow process but I am so happy with the results. I hope all my "sisters" are doing well and my thoughts and prayers are with you all.

TVH, A & P repair.

I didn't think to ask my doctor at my six week checkup how much I could lift or when to stop worrying about it. He basically told me to do what I felt up to doing. If it makes me uncomfortable, I don't do it.
