Hi Sisters

I ended up taking an additonal 2 more weeks off work. Hopefully I can get a dr. note but there was no way I could do that kind of job with all going on. I finish my antibiotics a week ago Friday. Seems to have help with all the left side pain. I see my dr. on Tues. re: sleep, blood pressure and to update her on all the other things going on. I am still on schedule for the colonoscopy this Thursday. I purchased all that I need for this. I can't believe the process that this thing is. Hopefully I will get closure on this whole thing.

I too have healing pain. I vacuumed for the first time myself without DH having to do it the other day. I must admit I had to go slow you can really feel the pulling. Tummy muscles are somewhat sore due to really picking up the pace and trying to be normal again. Today I took a 45 min walk, and cleaned 3 bathrooms. Lots of work but my dh helped with one of them. Feel sore now though.

Anyone have pain during urination yet? For some reason that seems to never end. Oh well, could be worse. I could have been diagnosed with cancer (that is what the dr. and test was showing). I always count my blessings. My son is turning 16 this Friday. The last of the litter. How exciting!

My energy level is up again and i'm so thankful for this and I need every ounce to teach kindergarten. The pain on my left side has subsided but I am very swollen (belly) lately. I hate it. I'm having a really hard time with my back pain and I dont know what to do when its time to go to sleep. I dread lying down because of the pain. anyone having backpain since surgery?

Phillipians, are you putting a pillow under your legs when you sleep? That, plus Motrin and a hot water bottle, did the trick for my back pain.

I don't have a hot water bottle - used a rice pack.

You can buy a hot water bottle from any drug store. It's like a large rubber pouch that has a plug at the top and you fill it up with hot water. I've had one for years and use it whenever anyone is hurting. It really helps.

Ohhhhhh, ok yes, i have one of those. except i never thought of using it hot. I always fill it with ice. I will try that tonite. the propping of pillows around me helped a little last night.

I'm not sure we're talking about the same thing though. The plug on mine is small and only for liquid. If yours is large enough for ice cubes it may be different. Maybe check to see if it can take hot water.

my parents just gave me two ice paks that can be used either cold or hot. These are so cool! I can pop them into the microwave and they get hot or store them in the freezer if I want to apply cold. I think I will try this hot tonite. I hate that my family is all worried about me. just when we thought it was all over with the surgery now this back pain! ugh!
