You're welcome simplyme. Regardless of the surgery, we are all in this together. It seems like our friends on the outside don't quite relate like we do in here. In my case, they have already done it yrs ago and enjoying life and I have to play catch up. WOMEN!
Also, recovery progress 9-16 is big. Have you noticed how busy ours is to so others?

Thought I would check in. I am one day short of 4 weeks since my TAH. My recovery really took off this week. I am walking a mile a day slowly but with no negative repercussions. I HAD to put on a suit and go on an appointment for work yesterday for a few hours. Again, I just moved slow and came right back to the throne and passed out for 5 hours.

Just called the Doctor to make sure driving and bathing can resume. All okay there if I feel like it. (which I do) But, the nurse told me no hot tub until my check up on the 17th? Not even for 10 mins? I do not understand that. What have you heard? I do plan on dipping in my pool to cool off this weekend if it gets too hot. (just a quick in and out to get wet).

Here's the bad news. You all know how I feel. (like I have a brick in my abdomen that convulses everytime I start to move). The bad news is that everyone saw me in my full get up yesterday and have decided I am fully recuperated. UGH!!! I have decided they can all think I am a lazy bum that is shirking my responsibilities! I am taking my full six weeks to do this right the first time.

Okay, I am done with my affirmations. Will go read howyou are all doing now.

I'm back Dr. examined and said everything looks GREAT! From incision to internal...said all healed up and can resume ANYTHING/EVERYTHING just no "inners*x" for 2more weeks...LOL...said I'll see ya in 1 year...went over my path report and said everything was benign...he basically said you can be assured everything had issues and it all needed to go...said my uterus was undescribable basically, it puzzled him, and said no real clear description and included several deformaties rolled into one...he said it served it's purpose somehow and produced 3 children but it's time was up!!! Have to google some of the terminology in the report and convert some of the cm numbers to inches.....anyone know how?????

EWWWW the pathology has some ucky descriptions...it describes the color and texture of things they sliced into EWWWW!

No I haven't noticed that ours is busy. I have a hard time navigating around on the site and haven't checked out any other forums.
I just know that without the support, I would have gone crazy!

This was your first & last post-op with him. Were you scared with the internal exam? Did it hurt? I go back for my 2nd visit on Tuesday.
Be Blessed.

Way to go, Gemini!! Congrats! Wish I got to stay away from OB's for a year. I get to go back every 3 months to check the dysplasia that is still 'in there'............hooray for you. And nice you got permission to take it slow and little by little until after Labor Day. Thanks for letting us know how it all turned out.

Reminds me: I'm going to ask for a copy of my path report Aug. 31 bec. it was done at the hospital outside my 'network' and so it's not online like the network path reports are.

HOORAY FOR YOU, GEMINI!! What a wonderful day.

Later.....................in a half hour I go out onto the roads and across the river to retrieve granddaughter. Was it here I posted that I drove past the bridge this a.m.? Speechless is all I can say.

HOORAY AGAIN! (I get excited for other peoples' good fortunes.)

Hi LaRae. I'm a July 13 Sister too...had TAH with BSO as a bonus. The last two days have been much better but I, too, plan on taking my full 6 weeks and perhaps will work short days for a while after that as well. Still not pain free for very long at a time, but isn't the progress great?

I basically stay in this recovery progress too. I also go to the sister's chat. I don't think they like us to go where we shouldn't be posting on dates that are not related to us anyway.

Thanks, I will keep that in mind. No cute little sundresses and my capri suits back to work next week. They will think that I am normal. I will go in there business casual. Plus it is the summer. I work in the school administrative office, so it is quiet now with the school closed. I really am afraid to wear anything that zips up anyway, in case I swell during the day. I am wearing elastic capri sets or simple dresses. You know when we go back, everyone is going to be looking at our bodies, even though I only told 4 people and 2 are my supervisors. If you are a woman, and been out for 4 wks or more, they know. Also, with me, I was carrying a special bag to the restroom full of pads 1-2X a month. Now, I won't be.

Yes, it's either big because there were a ton of us having surgery that week or because we LOVE LOVE LOVE to talk to each other! I have finished my 10 laps (five miles) for the day in the blistering heat. It's 90 heat index (89 + 65 degree dewpoint)............hot, hot, HOT. I did four laps at 6:30 a.m. before I went to get DG to take her across the river and then 3 laps at about 10 and now my last 3. I'm glad it's done. Maybe DG will go into swimming pool w/me for my lovely ten min. after i cross the river to retrieve her in another half hour. Depends how long it takes us. And my car key fell under another person's car in the Target parking lot and landed RIGHT in the middle of the other car's underside. Now, I'm only 5 feet two on a GOOD day. How could I get it? Luckily in MN I ALWAYS carry my long brush to clean snow (ahhhh, snow) off the car and scrape the windshield. I went down on my knees gently and reached out w/the bruch end and brushed that key right over to where I was. Without the brush I would have been sitting in the heat on the curb hoping the car belonged to a shopper and not an employee........I'd be there melting still to wait for a chance to nab the car key. That was my adventure so far for today.

A good late afternoon and evening to you all. It's nice that most of the path reports are coming back nice and clean. Take care everyone as you continue to heal........and I will do the same.
