Hello all! I had a busy day--first back to school meeting with my new boss. It was hard to sit in a chair all afternoon!

I did find out that I don't start working with my students for two to three weeks, which sounds great to me!

What was even worse was driving. By the time I got started towards home, my eyes started glassing over from exhaustion, which was bad with an hour long drive...I made it though!

As an update, my dad is still in the hospital. They think it might be West Nile or Lyme Disease. He also has a reallllllllllly bad sinus infection, but that diagnosis doesn't quite match all of his symptoms. Hopefully he'll get out tomorrow. That would be great for Mom and help ease all of our minds!

I am at 4 1/2 weeks and I am still having pain. Most days have been good over the past week. It is still very specific to the sides and feels like a charlie horse or hernia on the left and right sides just above the incision. Today, I am absolutely convinced I have popped a hernia on the left side. It forces me to bend over and grab my abdomen when I stand up or walk too fast. Today is the worst in two weeks. I am really mad at the set back. Truth be told...and nobody scream.... My bad day and evening could be because I went to the gym this morning so I could walk sans heat and know that when I hit the wall, I can just stop. I have been walking in the area and running the risk of having to be picked up from whereever I hit the wall. I did 2 miles in exactly 1 hour today. When I left the gym I felt fine. No exersion whatsoever and no pain. Pitiful, but you have to start somewhere. I am a long distance walker and my daily routine is in the 7 miles in 2 hour range. Very frustrating.

Like I said...I have decided it must be a hernia. It really hurts and I swear I can feel a separation. Probably all in my head like everything we have all experienced so far. It seems everything just keeps turning out to be normal pains for the stage of recovery.

I noticed a few posts on insomnia. No kidding. I really don't like drugs but I have given in and taken Ambien the last 3 nights. Great sleep, weird dreams but my ability to think clearly returned with the first good night of sleep.

I have a desk job and I feel like I have to make excuses not to run into the office. Sitting at a desk is truly the one thing that just sets me back. Good news is that I am the boss but I hate laying all this work on everyone. Two more weeks and I will be back.......I hope.

Last thought. My bowels are still not right. I pee all the time, so it can't be a lack of water. I resumed the stool softeners to maintain some amount of regularity. Does anyone think this left and right of the incision pain could be gas and bowel pain?

I'll stop now. All this complaining seems like bad karma. Keep writing. You are making me feel like I am not the only one in the lifeboat.

thanks for letting me rant......

Hi everyone,

LaRae, sorry you are in such pain. I did experience similar after overdoing it and was told it was where I had bad adhesions and adeno, and they had had to tug around etc. I hope it will ease for you. I think you should rest up for a few days and literally go back to doing nothing again and see how the pain is. The mindless tv / dvds on the sofa are a good way of doing nothing, coupled by giving yourself a manicure to pamper.

I had a strange call from someone at work yesterday saying that their friend had been back in work full time after a month!!!! Just to make me feel bad and I am also thinking of asking for a further 2 weeks off when I have the post op check on 19th!!! I am going to be popular!!

Just can't face the hours when still this tired and still in pain with this nerve problem on my right side and down my leg.

I think I was born to be a lady of leisure and this has forced me to realise my destiny, tee hee!!!!! A lady who lunches, what fun!! As you can tell I am probably hallucinating and having exotic dreams if I can think that for a minute I will be able to do that!!!! But, we can all dream!

A pile of laundry to iron is calling me so hey **!!

Take care everyone and speak soon

Hugs xxxxx

Yaay, Sunny!

SunnyBahrain found us. How wonderful.

A happy Wednesday to everyone, too. Today I go to work for a seven hour Microsoft Windows 07 training. Let's see if I can sit still that long.

Yesterday I walked 5 mi. plus rode my Dgd's bike 1 mi. I survived. I don't know what happened Monday for me to have so many knots/pins/needles. Maybe it was the humidity?? Don't know. Anyway, off I go today.

Good healing to you all.......................E.

A good Wednesday to you all. Glad my walking has inspired a couple of sisters. After a horrible Monday w/a ton of knots/pins/needles I did NOT heed advice of the sisterhood and I still did my usual 5 mi. yesterday plus 1 mi. on Dgd's bike. I did okay. Now, moving the toilet bowl lid off the back of the toilet to see why the heck the water doesn't shut off when one (yes, just one of three) particular teens flushes the toilet.........I'm thinkin' that lid off the back of the toilet is waaaaaay more than 20 pounds, so I hope I haven't done damage. I just do the mantra of 'it's 5 weeks 2 days, 5 weeks 2 days'...............

Today I go to a 7 hour Microsoft Windows 07 training at my college so let's see if E. can sit still that long. I'll be ready to jump from the window. And no 5 mi. for me after that. Nope. I will try to post tonight to check in.......

Again, a good healing day to all of you. Take care and thinking of you....E
