Presouz,
It isn't that bad today. Yesterday was awful though. I was so tired. I do feel better today. Today is my 5-wk post-op and a lot of my supporters on the outside wanted me to wait till Monday to come in. I felt it is only 2 days/part time. We don't work fridays in the summer and Monday I still wouldn't want to come back. My dr. has released me after this week....
Also, keep in mind that my recovery was supposed to be only 4 wks. I had the LSH (laparascopic supracervical hysterectomy). Recovery in as little as 10 days. I don't have an abdominal scar. 2 tiny incisions on each side and 1 in the belly. It took me a while to find him and he is the only guy in town to do it. I didn't want another big ab cut. I already had that gutted fish feeling when I had my c-section in 88. I have not seen blood since a week before my surgery. Don't mean to toot my own horn because it is still surgery, just knifeless. I still feel twinges in my right side occassionally. Also, I am being very careful....

Oh!! Didnt know the recovery was so short for a LSH, wow, my doc says my uttie was too big for a LSH and I had to be gutted like a fish! heh. Its hard to stay down and rest, no driving or anything that isnt pretty much walking or laying or some sitting but now I am starting to enjoy it, not good for his old hyper lady... but hey Gods will, thanks for the reply. Be well and take it easy!!!

Presouz,
I can't be doing too much at work if I keep posting......LOL I like that you call it a uttie. That's cute. The LSH is pretty much for any size uttie (as u say) but a lot of drs. don't know how to do it. Like my regular GYN wanted to do the abdominal. This guy was recommended by my last surgeon for the adhesions. When he released me on Tuesday, he said, see u in 6 mths. Now, who told him he was going to be my regular GYN. I like my other GYN also even if he couldn't do the LSH.
What kind of work do u do?

As Jennice shows, we don't always heal 'by the textbook,' especially with regards to timelines. The anesthesia I still swear changed me. I am still not 'normal E'....not at all. I tried playing the music in the car yesterday and still couldn't stand it. And I tried to watch some of my favorite reality t.v. and still couldn't sit long enough or find enough interest in it to stick with it. That is very very strange for me. And I try to tell people stuff and I forget what I'm saying. Now, I had that little issue before once in a long time but now it's like a LOT. And I don't have my old energy to get work done. I'm usually a powerhouse/race horse, nicknamed the 'el train' by one of my associates. This train is in the station resting right now.

Later............take care, and good healing to you all!

Gods will to finally get you well deserved rest!!! Do you think hormone changes cause the other problems? I had that same thing when my hormones were off, along with A LOT of other problems.. well see if they come back, I am having more and more hot flashes, not as bad as back in 2003 but they are not fun, seems to happen if I am feeling stressed!? Could that be true?? Feel better, thanks for the reply Presouz

I work in central administration for the school system (Admin asst) for 2 great specialist. I am a 12 month employee and work through the summer. However, we work 4 10hr days (off fri). It isn't that busy since the 50+ schools are closed. I work in the dept of Instruction for Math/Language, grades 6-12. I was trying to wait until December for the surgery since we are closed 2 wks for Christmas break and I wouldn't be missing my summer, but couldn't wait any longer.

Presouz, about vaginal vs abdominal: I'm an old post-menopausal lady and my vagina has become dryer and less flexible, and that's why my doctor said it would have to be abdominal. He also said that it's easier to do "the works" abdominally (ovaries, tubes, uterus, cervix). Is it "abdominal" or "abominable"???
