P.S. I've done over 500 posts since June, as have some of the rest of you. We are definitely emailers. I email TONS at work, too. I'm the queen of emails at work. Some of my co workers think I sit by the machine continuously but not, I really don't do that. Believe it or not!

I can't help with any BP questions: might be good to start a new post on that one.

MOEJODEP: I know EXACTLY how you feel about pre v. post surgery. I feel like i've been drastically altered and shed tears in the shower today bec. I'm not my former self and don't know if I ever will be. I was very active, too. Now I'm pushing and dragging myself to move and i hate it and it's mindless. I'm like a robot w/no brain. I've been doing research on the aftereffects of anesthesia, never mind the surgery, too! I will have some questions for the doc 8/31 and I already know he's going to say, 'I don't know,' but I'll ask anyway. I'm frustrated, too. I'm scared about going to school Wed. I sit like a lump. I have no energy to 'fight' and advocate and be devil's advocate like i used to do. I dred memorizing the 100 new names to go w/the 100 new faces, and making sense of the 400 papers/drafts I will be reading in four writing sections for 16 weeks. And the meetings and all that I'm famously known for "the energizer bunny"....moving on half battery power or less right now. Well, I'll just do the best I can. Maybe I'll make a sign that says something cute re: surgery so people get the picture. I am just not 'me'...........and as a single mom and mom of a single mom...........that takes a ton of energy, too.

At work one day last week (I went in a couple of hours) one coworker said i looked so great bec. my black circles under my eyes were 'gone'.... but then the next time i saw her i pointed out 'they're back' bec. i had my DGD kicking me in bed all night! And people say I look thin and I haven't lost an ounce. They must have had an inflated opinion of me pre surgery LOL.

Well, MoeJo I totally hear you. I'm with you. Thank goodness we are not alone....we have each other to remind about the toughness of recovery coming out of the castle and we even share the same dates from surgery.

Sunny: so glad you got two more weeks bec. I think you really needed them w/all the healing issues PLUS SO GLAD you had a good report after surgery and a good visit overall with the doctor. Sounds like lots of questions got answered.

Jennice, hope you are doing better today. I know you had a rough Saturday.

Off I go..............good healing to all of us on this rainy Sunday at my house. E.

P.S. I'd start a new thread labeled "BLOOD PRESSURE" as I see snippets here and there and they sometimes get buried; there are probably a ton of hystersisters w/info and advice if you start a new thread on that one. Over and out.

It is amazing when I read each one of your posts, that there is something that each one of you has written that I can relate to.
I also have a son( junior in college) and a daughter(senior in HS). The preparation for both is mounting! I have toured 3 colleges in the past week and and one more on Monday. We will do her shopping for the school year on our route back home. No other time to do it. She is not a shopper .(I am not as well) So it should be short and sweet. I get so tired after the tours, that it better be short and sweet!

i do have those times when I am alone, where I shed a few tears of frustrastion as well. Last week it was in a room full of people at the gym. I cannot believe that I am now dealing with a possible cystocele. I don't want to deal with that!!!! I did not have it going into surgery! I keep trying to ignore it...but the pulling, sore muscle on my bottom feeling does not go away. It gets worse as the day goes on or the more activity I do.
My DH and i have a very close relationship. We are HS sweethearts and have been married for almost 23 years. It bothers me that I can not have the same sexual feelings that I had before. I wonder if I will ever be rid of the bothersome bottom pain. He is a very gentle man with a heart of gold. He hates it when we have to sleep apart. He called me just after visiting me and arriving home from the hospital the day of surgery and asked if I wanted to have him come and lay with me in the hospital. He was dead serious, and I was feeling like I needed every inch of the smaller bed to be able to be comfortable. He understood but hates for us to be apart.

I go back to work on Tuesday. I teach a lamaze class. My boss has already asked me if I would like her to teach for me. No way. I am ready. I need to take back some of my life!! This cystocele is not going to bring me down. She is coming to help me set up for the eve, but then I will teach. It is only a 3 hour night. I will sit when I need to.

I will be just fine. I have never wished my kids back to school. I enjoy them home so much in the summer. I have always cried for the first week of school. The house is so empty. This year I am looking forward to the alone time.

Thanks for sharing, Simplyme. I enjoyed reading your post.

I'm like a caged dog. Pacing around here wishing away the drizzle and cold winds. I just can't face going out there but I really want to walk. Hmmmm. Patience is called for on my part.

Take care, Simplyme. What a sweet post. I'll bet you're a dynamite teacher.

Moejodep, I have always had low blood pressure -- low end of normal, and the lightheadedness is a symptom. Any sudden change in elevation, e.g. getting down from a ladder, getting up from bed, sometimes makes me dizzy. For me, it seems to come in spells -- lasts for a week or so and then goes away. I'm experiencing it now, and I don't like it! For some reason drinking lots of water helps, so try that.
Sunny, congrats on the good doc visit and the extension. I'm going tomorrow for my 5-week check-up. Reliefisdue, I'm also due back at work on the 27th but I'm going to suggest the 29th instead so that I start with a 3-day week, and probably shorter hours too. I'm fortunate that the folks at work are very flexible and this is a quiet time of year.
I've been following a very leisurely schedule: staying up late at night and sleeping in the next day. I think I'm going to start setting my alarm clock to get myself onto a normal schedule, to make the transition easier.
Have a wonderful day, everyone. It's a gorgeous day here in Ottawa and I'm going for a walk.

Back to Work?

Afternoon Ladies,
Today was my first Sunday back to church and I prayed that we all continue to heal well. My church family was glad to see me. ....
I tell you, I feel better today since Friday. My body was so tense and I felt awful. I was back on the pain pills. Between that storm and the power going out, I was a wreck. Thank God, my son hasn't left for college yet. I am doing much better today. I worked Wed & Thurs PT and will do it again this week. I went back to work aftr 5 wks. I am using vacation hrs this week since I didn't have one this summer and my dr. has me to return FT this week. I didn't whine for more time when I was there last week. I figure the longer I wait, the more time I want.

Hi all -
Quick note to all receiving rain this afternoon - unfortunately it is here in PA also and what you are getting is in fact coming this way. Keep those in Oklahoma in mind and say a prayer as they have had major flooding in some parts from Erin and Dean looks like it is going to hit Jamaica pretty hard.
