Today is the sixth week anniversary of my dad picking me up at this very 6:12 a.m. hour to take me to the castle for my surgery. I spent a restless night (well, had a little one in bed kicking me and rolling around most of the time) and woke very early and remembered to take my bone medicine and even remembered to email my boss w/an idea that dawned on me about an issue at work and so maybe I am slowly returning to my former self even though it doesn't always feel like it. And last night I walked a pretty steady gait to a local store to purchase a couple of items..........another sign that I can 'move' like the old ways again. I'm exhausted and mentally fighting w/myself about going back day after tomorrow but I shall survive, altered state or not.

Have a wonderful Monday all of you as you continue to heal. E.

Still raining here

Boy, we need the rain, so I will not complain

My prayers out to all the flood victims around the world. When I start feeling sorry for myself, I watch the news and then the reality hits, my problems are so miniscule(sp?).

I have decided I will be doing alot of walking doing the college touring and mall shopping that I will hold off going to the gym until tonight. If the bottom doesn't feel like it is dragging on the floor then I will do a couple miles on the treadmill. As I anticipate it raining through Wed also.

E-I continue to pray for the bridge victims and the families. It has affected so many. they are only missing one now? Was it the bridge worker that was missing early on? i crossed that bridge only a few times. I can only try to imagine what you and all the others feel. i think of the victims and families everytime i cross a bridge.
Good luck to your sister walking that many miles i ran a half marathon a few years back. Even that was alot of training. The 13 miles wasn't too bad, it was the training that took so much time.

I did not get out and walk yesterday. Instead we headed to our cottage and we did odds and ends. i was bending over a bit too much and knew we needed to quit. We went to the casino for a while and while my DH played Blackjack I walked around and around
I did get into my jeans yesterday!! My DH said with a smile, no jogging suit today? I was fine with the swelly belly until about 8 pm. Then the pjs felt so good.

Well, time to get ready for the day! I am going to take some advil, anticipating the slow walking soreness already. It just isn't the same great feeling of a brisk walk.

Great healing all, and to those of you who share your 6 week anniversay today....you have come a long way!

Hi, Simplyme. Good morning. Yes, only the bridge worker is now missing. They found a missing man yesterday...he worked at a local college.

The flooding in southern MN is unbelievable.

I'm trying to wake up DD at her house so she will make the doc appt. for my granddaughter to find out if the white stuff on her tongue is thrush. I'm raring to go today like I once was in the past and only you and i seem to be moving!

Later......................

Well, back here in chatsville.........the earliest doc appt for granddaughter on this side of the river is 1:40 this afternoon. Jeepers. So much for rarin' to go today. I told the little one to go back to sleep. It's not worth trying to drive her to daycare on other side of river, go back to other side to collect her and then over river back this way for appt. That's not logical. Rats. Well, then, tomorrow is my 'final day' of aloneness until I report back f.t. Wed.

It is soooo gloomy out and more rain is on the way, but I will definitely go walk and walk and walk today while these kids sleep in and while I bide time until the p.m. appt. Off I go.

Hey, Gemini3...I see you are on the thread. Maybe you are posting a quick 'hi' before you run off again. You have more energy than I can imagine. Have a great Monday. E.

Loooong time nooooo see girls!

Busy weekend, my Sr. and Jr. start tomorrow! Took dd shopping yesterday...6 hours at the mall She's happy and we did have fun...BUT bf picked her up when we got home along with 3 other friends and got call about 9:00...oh yes the dreaded "we were in a wreck"...car totalled (just got it last month along with drivers license, beautiful Mitubishi Eclipse) she was in the front, of course no seatbelt, both air bags came out, they are LUCKY to be alive to say the least...the car is a complete total!!! I'm thinking we will be heading to the ER today for a couple broken fingers GRRRR!
She iced them last night...he is here now up talking to her...let you know how the day progresses...bf told me insurance will no cover the car...he was charged with failure to control...he says he blacked out...dd noticed him swerving, looked over at him and his head was down like he was sleeping, she grabbed him and was slapping his face screaming at him and it all happened that fast! They damaged a fence/building, side swiped a tour bus, etc...What a mess...

Hey here they come, be back in a bit!

Oh my goodness! Your life is toooo much. I am so thankful everyone survived the wreck w/minor injuries and people 'outside' the car were not hurt, either. You will be VERY busy today, Gemini!! Good luck to you in sorting it all out. Another reason why I dread my 14 year old in driver's ed next spring. Several of her older friends are already behind the wheel in training and I am scared stiff. Take care. Thanks for checking in. Hope your healing goes well w/all today's stress. E.

Oh geez Gemini -
As I said before - life is starting to get crazy again so I guess we must all be healing well. Did the bf have a seizure? I hope he wasn't intoxicated! Just glad that no one was seriously hurt. In spite of our warnings, my middle son drives like a maniac at times and I so dread the thought of getting that call.

Gemini3---

Sorry to hear about your daughter. Check with your automobile insurance. If you have a rider - uninsured/underinsured -- your dd hospital and possibly other costs should be covered.

P.S. SEATBELTS are soooooooooooo important. I won't drive an inch w/o everyone buckled and I especially have to yell at the teens about it but my car doesn't move. In MN you can get a ticket around one hundred bucks if caught without them and my ex died in a car crash and not ever wearing his seatbelt i'm sure contributed to his demise. Again, Gemini, good luck today. I am so thankful everyone is okay. Sounds very stressful and frightening. My heart would be beating like crazy from the fear of it all. E.
