I hear ya byfaith! We have to be faithful that this too shall pass. I keep thinking that with every week we have to get better. Sometimes I think I've been expecting too much too fast after the surgery......I'm 11 weeks this week and in the grand scheme of things what is 11 weeks? that's nothing! AND I have been working full force on my feet since week 6. I am beginning to think that its too soon to expect "back to normal"

I dont know.........thats just how i'm feeling today.

I'm so sorry to hear about the major bills you ladies have to pay! I'm Canadian and our health care is paid by the government -- no doctor or hospital bills for me! I have medical insurance at work that covers 80% of drugs, physiotherapy, eyeglasses, etc. so I'm very fortunate.
Gemini, I get a weird feeling around the incision site too -- kind of tender, almost like a sunburn. I imagine there was a whole bunch of nerve damage and it'll be a while before everything feels normal again.
The only problem I've had is back pain for the past week and a half. I think I overdid the house cleaning (unusual for me!) because my back was doing the work of back and abs. I've been to a massage therapist twice but it's not feeling any better. I may end up having physiotherapy or chiro.
Take care, everyone!

At 11 weeks this is what I'm feeling: backpain and muscle and joint pain in the hips and thighs (we're trying to figure why and what)

Positives: no mood swings, no hot flashes, hair is growing nice and strong, sleeping again

I think the vitamins and supplements have helped me alot.

Phil I think your right we do expect too much so soon! But what pushes us is the people around us think that we should be able to do everything as if we are back to our old self. It's like wow you look so good! But you can look great on the outside but your inside is still healing and you are feeling the pain.

I think I try so hard to suck it up. That's why I am so happy to be able to vent to some sisters that are going through the same thing. I do know there is a difference between the types of surgery. With the TAH-BSO I have pain near the scar and one side is numb. What I have heard from a therapist is that right now I am scaring on the inside. Until it heals it will feel tender.

So happy to have you

My surgery was $25,000 and that was just for the observation stay overnight. The dr. was $3,000 and I don't know about the anesthesiologist or pathologist fee. My co-pay was $300 and I wasn't billed until 6 wks after the surgery. I am a little mindful about receiving another bill for someone, but so far nothing. So $300 wasn't bad. I spent more on office visits throughout the year, trying to get better.
Hope you guys are/will enjoy their day.

I got the free RX card this summer and helped me save alot of money. Since DH switched jobs we have no med. insurance or anything. Thank god he still worked at the other place when i had this surgery. But now neither one of us has any insurance. It really bites.
