E in love? Surely you jest!

Jennice, I saw that one about me being in love. Yep, I'm in love with all the papers I grade 'round the clock!

I tried to catch up on the thread this a.m. between eating breakfast, reading the paper, getting ready before I wake up the teen and paying bills online. Last week was a killer with about 85 essays to grade in varying drafts. It took me forever, even w/rubrics. And I can't get a handle on the surly native English speakers in my freshman English class. I'm going to try and meet w/my mentor PRONTO to figure out if the majority of youth in this country act this way or if it's me. My ESL learners want to be in school and many/most work hard and come to class 90% of the time. it's the exact opposite in this composition class, and I'm not used to the wisecracks, stupid answers on worksheets, etc. Sigh.

The rest of life just goes on 'as usual' and there ain't no lovin' for me w/o a BF or hubby. Just work, work, work and dealing w/drama, drama, drama w/DD's and little granddaughter. Nothing has changed except 12 weeks since the visit to the castle. I feel fairly normal, actually. I get an occasional knot if I'm dehydrated (I chug a LOT more water now)... I can 'last longer at night without running to the bathroom 3 or 4 times'....down to once or twice, now. I'd say maybe once a week I get a jabby pain somewhere in the abdomen, but it's basically nothing. Friday I will get my thyroid checked as it's been off/wacky for forty years and we're trying to get the meds right...plus the cholesterol. And Friday I get my first liquid PAP, so that should be an adventure, plus meeting my retired OB's replacement. So that's it for this week, ladies.

I haven't given up walking, but I sure haven't had much chance to do it. My weight is holding steady at about 126 on a good morning.........I binge out from the stress of life sometimes, but otherwise try to keep it all in check.

to you all........off, as usual, I go.

Well....wait.... I still do believe the anesthesia altered my brain. I think about threads in my head out of nowhere for no reason at all (ex: woke up thinking of themes for a college fair that occurs in April of next year and no one asked me to be thinking about it and it was OBSESSIVE my thinking about it).....or still feel dazed as I drive sometimes and I'm not on any meds other than thyroid.....nothing has really changed.....but I swear my brain cells are not the same.

OK REALLY OFF I GO!

E

Ele. we have all been wondering where you have been. Long time no write. Glad to see your getting back to normal. I hardly have no pain at all. Gone back to lifting weigh to much as usual. The only thing i have noticed for me is when i cough to hard or laugh to much i start to pee. So in the future i will probably get that taken care of. Other wise most days i don't even think about the surgery. I've been doing crunches and exercising to help get rid of the flabby belly now. Some days it seems like it is helping and somedays it doesn't. O well hopefully sooner or later it will go away i hope. Best of luck with all your paper grading.

Hey Law! Have you guys gotten any help at work yet? Or are you still shorthanded. Last week we were short one cook, so I was doing her stuff while everyone covered my stuff, (to include me). And this while the boss's boss is trying to come up with more stuff for us to do! It was a long week!
ast couple of weeks, something has invaded my computer. Now I get garbage popping up all over. Sigh! Looks like we are going to have to FDISK sooner than we usually do. (Usually once a year.) It's the only way we have found to truely get rid of whatever downloads on your PC.

Wow LAW I wish I could be that normal. I wonder if it's because of the vertical TAH-BSO vs the LAVH? Crossroads how are you doing? Do you still feel any pain. The difference between us is you had the bikini cut. I have a job standing and running all day and about at the 7 hour I have pulling and pain along with back pain. I know also I had a couple set backs too with the colon issues.

I still feel pain. Oh how I wish I did'nt. Job change in 1 week. I hope that helps.

Byfaith, I seem to be doing better than most of you. I get some twinges every now and again in my stomach, especially Saturday when I cleaned the livingroom and moved chairs around in preparation to bring in a treadmill. But I did wait until DH was home on Monday to move the piano and bring the treadmill in. 3 months ago I would have done it all myself. So I admit I'm not fully "healed". My, how things have changed. I still have a couple of places on the incision that are just irritated and itchy. As for the back pain, it is awful! But, I've lived with it over 20 years, so I just deal with it. I had hoped some of it would ease after the surgery, but I guess not. It was down to presurgry level, but now has gotten worse, probably because of my job. Bending over those steam tables at work to serve the kids is hard on me. I need to save up to see my chiropractor. They say it may take upwards of a year to recover fully. Friday was 11 weeks for me. 41 more weeks to go!!!!!!!!! My cup is half full.

I know the feeling!!! I still cant get back to normal either, I too would do all and everything too before my surgery, though I had to be on pain pills because of the swelling from my prolapse. I am better off now I do feel but have days I am JUST STALLED OUT!! I have zero energy even to make my daily calls! Does anyone else have jelly days too?

I am really having a tough time with my back now. Lower back pain after about 2 hours of standing it starts and as I continue to stand and run around, 7 hours later I have tears in my eyes because of the back pain (I try to suck it up). Also my lower tummy starts to pull and pain me. I cannot stand for my normal 8-9 hours. I have got to believe it's due to gaining muscle strength in the lower ab area.

Anyone have any idea's on how to manage pain?? Now I am trying Bayer X-Strength. My DH is going to pick up some Aleive to try.

Ladies,
I am creating a new post if you want to come and post. I feel really good except for this swelly belly. I just know that I have adhesions and want to compare notes with someone. No pain, just the full feeling in my gut. I hope that all of you are doing well. I have to figure out how to do a new post and when I do, it will be called, "Adhesions anyone?

I had my appointment yesterday with the Orthopedic doctor (spine specialist) regarding my bad backpain. He ordered physical therapy for the next 4 weeks, will look at a previous MRI I had done and also ordered a special blood test called a CPK??????? Creatine Kinase---its supposed to tell something about my muscles. So we'll see. I continue searching for the answer to this backache. I'll keep you all posted.
On a more positive side, aside from the backache I am feeling much much better and less tired. I think all of the vitamins I am taking are finally starting to kick in.

Phil,
Me too. I have been taking one/day for a few days and am finally feeling a difference. I am not as tired when I come home. I can actually do other things aside from drop in this chair when I come in. I haven't been to the dr. yet this month for anything, so far......lol. September was only to the optometrist, so that is good.
I am going to seek a specialist soon about this swelly belly, but that's it. I believe that your back pain may be from your endo returning. But, that can be easily repaired. I am thinking of you.
