elefante, thank you so much i just read your post and shared this with my family. my parents and dh and kids are here with me now and everyone has been so scared for the last hour. the doctor just called and told us exactly what you just said. that at this time post op the stitches are dissolving and healing is taking place inside. those were his words. he also said that unless I am soaking a pad i should not worry. Oh my gosh, what a scary experience this has been. so i am going to lie down and take it easy on the couch and see how this goes. Thank you for being there just now in my moment of panic.

This thread is for chit chat and to keep up the friendships you have made with others who share your surgery date week

The Recovery Progress thread is a place for you to post your progress. It's not a place to ask questions about your recovery and it's not a place to chat.

If you have any questions about your recovery, please don't post about it here or on the Recovery Progress thread. Ask those questions in a NEW thread in the Post Op forum.

Sounds complicated, but it's not. Just remember....chat goes here, in the clubhouse, updates on your recovery go in the Recovery Progress thread and for questions about your recovery, start a new thread in PostOp.

Hey all the people from July 9 onward. Yes, my DD actually had a zumba tape at one time. It was fun to watch. We're always trying to lose/maintain weight here and it is SO hard. I myself battle cholesterol, bad bones and thyroid problems. Currently my thyroid is too high. Yeah, and I sleep under three blankets at nite and have the house set at 77 which drives everyone else nuts when it's hot outside. Sigh. Maybe weight gain was all those new MUSCLES with the personal trainer?? My sis/bro in law have personal trainers and now my dad is using their personal trainer, too. Lucky them. I just do my laps each day, walk, walk, walk, around the townhouse complex. It's a half mile per lap. Walk, walk, walk, lap, lap, chug water. I miss biking, badminton and swimming w/granddaughter. Sigh. Four more weeks to go 'til exercise! I went to a movie today w/DD and granddaughter. I actually survived, though I tried to stretch my legs a tad and made sure I sat on the aisle in case I needed to get out of there. I've also been to the grocery store (so eeeeerie after not going two weeks) and last weekend to a shopping strip to get a couple of things. I am so happy I can drive my own car starting tomorrow. My credit cards were very happy w/my surgery; no action on any card for two weeks. How sweet THAT was!

Well, it's good to see you all in this chat area. I'll post back in the other area Wed. for sure bec. that's when I go for the path report in the a.m. Then in the p.m. I go to fight w/a new GP who doesn't know me about the bones, cholesterol, blood pressure and stupid thyroid. I joke that I'm going to have those pill boxes that the centenarians have w/a whole lot of pills in the day of the week portions. Sigh.

E.

WannaBPain Free,

Yes, took the patch off the day after surgery, the 12th. but my close-up vision has not returned to normal. Maybe I'm just getting old and it just happened to change the day of surgery!!! That would be weird. I want to drive so bad and get back to normal. I have had no discharge what so ever and my incisions are great. The swelling is just about gone and this has been a breeze so far. I count my blessings as I type this out!

Good luck to all in our recoveries!!
