Am I the only person who gained weight? I am usually very busy active so this sitting on my butt hasn't been good for my figure.

I'll let you know, crunch. I go for my first post-op friday. I don't eat quite as much. I think that I am still swollen internally so I don't require as much food. Anyway, my problem is peeing all the time. Is it just me. I thought the hyster would help with that. I don't want to have a bladder tuck I hear the sisters talking about even though I don't know what that is. Then again, it could be all the water (the jug they gave me from the hospital) that I drink non-stop. About 4 a day. I have never drink this much water, ever. Tomorrow, I will start on my vitamin e & c to help promote my immune system. Doc gave me a prescrip for iron that should build me up too. I never take vitamins. Maybe, centrum every now/then. But the dr. said the slow FE is the best iron to take. Doesn't bind u up like most iron does. I am sure my blood count will rise on it's own with my more PERIOD!

I'm going in to work tomorrow for 3 hours helping seniors through bookstore days then 3 hours thursday. I told them if I was able I would work longer. I am 11 days post op. I do okay, I just find that I get kinda nervous after being out a couple of hours. Seems kinda silly since I have no pain. Today I went out alone for the 1st time. Just went to JoAnns to poke around and get out of the house.

[quote=lilkissyfacegir]Hi Elefante,

I am from MN too but live in AZ now. That is truly horrible news. IMHO, I don't think I would help out w/ his bail even if I were able to. Creepy but tragically much too frequent and common an occurence. The statics are alarmingly high.

Hey, I'm in AZ too. Had my hysto the same day as you. Small world.

Sadly not lost a lb and have a healthy post op appetite!! So, eating lots and not doing much, will have to be careful. Swelly belly much in evidence and cannot do up a lot of clothes, so still in summer gypsy style skirts which are fine for the high temps here.

I have been told strictly not to drive till week 6, so am amazed that some of you are driving already.

I was in fact told that insurance would be null and void if I drove as against medical instruction.

Week 6 is going to be exhausting, ha ha...back to work, driving and sex all at once!!!!!

Take care everyone xxx

I am so excited!!!

Had my TAH w repairs on July 9th. Came home with a suprapubic catheter. Got the good news today...will be having it removed this afternoon. Not that it has been awful but I am ready to get back to "normal". Thanks for all your great advise over the last three weeks. Continued positive healing to all my "hystersisters".

Hi everyone ! I had my total abdominal surgery on July 10th and was released from the hospital on the 13th. They kept me an extra day because my lung had fluid in it due to the surgery.

Feeling much better than I did when I returned home. Had lots of help from husband, and parents and in-laws, had meals brought to the house every day for the week following surgery what a help that was.

But after the first week it seems everyone forgets about what you have just went through.

Felt pretty good yesterday and decided to do some household chores, now I am feeling afraid that I may have overdone it, after reading the articles and posting in this wonderful site which warn me NOT to do those things.

Most my pain is on the right side, the Dr, said this is due to all the scar tissue that had to be removed from that area.

The Dr. said that she needed to leave part of my cervix as my bladder had adhesed itself to it due to the scar tissue, has anyone else had this happen? If so are there any long term effects caused by the bladder actually being grown to the cervix?

Thanks for all your helpful comments.

Hey everybody I am soooooooooooooooooo happy right now. I saw my doc and my pathology report was C-L-E-A-N. No malignancy. I am soooooooooooo happy. After everything else being 'bad/cin3/cis' I was so ready for more bad and I got good news. And, the doc said I can start to swim a little bit (just 2.5 weeks post op! TVH) and ride a bike two weeks out (happy will by granddaughter be!) but still nooooooo lifting, no heavy housework, no buying out the grocery store...........so a mix of restrictions.

I am so happy today. Thank you all for your support, your hugs, everything. It has helped me so very much.

Now my biggest challenge: i see my wonderful wonderful doctor who made my teen daughter's birth possible (cerclage/bedrest for preterm problems) 15 years ago and hysterectomy July 9.........I see him on his very last day of work Aug. 31. Then he rides off into the sunset. How do I find a new doc? He never recommends a soul to me (large state group health plan).......... That is going to be tough for me.

Happy Wed. to everyone. I still have another appt. this p.m. for cholesterol, thyroid and osteoperosis issues, but 'who cares' bec. my path report is lookin' pretty good!! Joy!

Hey everybody I am posting EVERYWHERE:

My path report from my July 9 surgery: no malignancy! For a person w/CIN3/CIS that is good news and I am soooooooo happy. I was soooooo scared. I do need check ups every three months for a year as there is still dysplasia (low grade) on the vaginal area still there after the surgery and my wonderful doc is retiring Aug. 31 and so I am at a loss as to whom to choose in the large health plan I'm in (I've known this guy 15 years!)......... so this is good news.

Also, I told him I'd walked 2.5 miles already this a.m. Raised eyebrows. Nurse said, 'you had better take it easy.' He said, 'yes, you can start swimming today if you want.' Happy happy me. And he said I can start riding a bike two weeks from now. YES! I do not recommend this to everyone as we all heal differently but i'm telling you, the water and walking helped me so much. I told him it's harder than heck to open some heavy doors that don't have handicapped access buttons to open and I still have a lot of lifting restrictions on me and admonishment to 'drink a lot of water and walk slow if you are walking,' but I am one happy lady today. Take care all of you and me too as we continue to heal. E.
