E
I was awake when they wheeled me into surgery. Then they had me scoot over from the bed onto the table. While I was talking to the anesthesiologist, the nurses strapped my arms and legs down with some sort of net material that was about a foot wide. Good thing he knocked me out quick after that, cause I get panicky when I am physically trapped. I panic if the zipper gets stuck on my coat!

Crossroads. Thank you for writing about what happened in the OR. And Crossroads, what a scare....can a sno=cone really make the urine red? I would think maybe there is something else in there; check it thruout the day.

I just finished 4 more laps. It is soooo hot out there. At least I drank a lot of water. I'm not going to finish my steps until it's just about dark.

Continue to heal, sisters. E.

Not the urine. The BM. Happens every time I have the red flavors. Just takes a minute for me to remember.

Aha. Thanks for the clarification, Crossroads! Glad it's NOT the urine!

Onward as we heal. I ate lunch out w/a friend but had a hard time eating. I just can't eat the same as before and it doesn't taste the same. Everything is different. I swear and swear again the anesthesia destroyed something in my brain. I sure hope I return to normal some day.

Off I go. E.

Just got back from my first drive! I only went to the grocery store and back, but it felt good to be independent again. Before today, the only time I was out of the house (other than walking up and down the street) was to have dh take me to my office to pick something up and then go to lunch. Some days seem great and others are definately not so great. I think the ups and downs are related to my hormone patch... took me awhile to see a connection there. On days that I change the patch, I have tons of energy and feel great. Then, as time goes by, I start feeling more tired, nauseated and have a pounding headache. Once I put on a new patch, I feel great again. I don't see my doctor until the 17th, but we will definetely have to discuss that... can't go back to work not functional every 4 days! That would be worse than before the surgery .
Glad to see that everyone for the most part seems to be doing really well. Things get a little better/easier every day.

Enjoy your Wednesday sisters!

Elefan & law,
Dr. office called me this morning. I was getting P*ssed, but glad I didn't call this morning and waited for them. Nurse told me, him called in a prescrip for diflucan yesterday. Hmmph, and they are just calling me. Anyway, I do have the vaginal itching sometimes (TMI), but not all the time. I was thinking it was something else. However, they did put an antibiotic in my IV before surgery. I usually get an infection from anti-biotics anyway. I hope that is all it is. I have another post-op on the 10th, but I am thinking of changing it until Monday, the 13th. Closer to 5 wks to me is better. Other than that, I feel good. Went out with my parents who finally decided to redecorate (full furniture) 2 rooms.
Elefan, still walking, huh? And the lady pulling cans......OMG! I guess us women, can't stop being women. I, however, did have a much less invasive surgery than u guys.......smile

Hi, Jennice41 & Sandlover & Crossroads

Good walking, Crossroads!
Glad you got to drive, Sandlover!
And Jennice, glad you are tracking down the docs office and getting the itching/infection possibilities taken care of.

Yep, I'm still walking, tho it is VERY hot here today (humid hot). I can't believe I live in the 'northern' USA!!! It feels like I'm in Florida. I have two laps to go and they will wait until late in the day.

I am definitely going to get my daughter to pull out the garbage/recycling for me for tomorrow.

I was at a grocery: piled high w/my arms: popcorn, string cheese, bell peppers, chopsticks (don't ask), blueberries, raspberries and some bagel squares for DD. An elderly gent said, 'why don't you get a CART?' I said, 'I had surgery 3 and a half weeks ago and I cannot lift 20 pounds. I do not want to fill up a cart and be in trouble. This is far less, I can handle it, and I'm safe to go check out now and carry it home.'

He said, 'Pretty smart idea.'

Take care everyone...................E. My favorite little smilie has moved so I always hunt for it.

E.

Hey Jennice, i also had an infection, The Dr. told me in was from the antibiotics they gave me. That was the first 2 weeks after the surgery. I thought it was kind of ironic that they give you meds to not get an infection then you get one from the stuff they give you. I had to take just 1 pill to get rid of the (yeast) infection. For me i guess i do most of my walking in the stores, since i'm pretty much a shop aholic. ha ha. Driving for me in no problem lately i hope it stays that way.
