My BP went up and stayed up 2 weeks before surgery. They ended up putting me on Lisinopril before surgery or I guess they would not have been able to do surgery. I am going in on Monday to see Dr. she wants to check it again. I checked it at Target and the bottom number is still high.

crossroads, you are too scary. U had us thinking u were pushing. Yeah, keep an eye out of the BP. I have never taken pills, but my primary said she is going to put me on them if it is high 1 more time. It was high in dec and again before my surgery in July when I went to go and see her. She agreed it may have been stress of the upcoming surgery.

LaRue, Kohl's is my store. I work there 2 evening a wk (PT job) and I don't know when I am gong bac. I am a little afraid. I work in intimate apparel and do a lot of bending and walking. I am missing the sale this wkend for my dad's cook out. Plus, I don't need to be up there spending money I am not making since I am on sick leave. They are real flexible and didn't even ask for a dr. note or release. If I am gone over 12 wks, then I need a note. I get all the perks: vacation, personal time and 30% off and 6 paid holidays. I have a few hrs I can use for pay, but I don't work that much anyway.

I can empathize with the whole scared to go back to work thing....I work with developmently delayed clients...they have been known to throw punches, bite, kick, pull, push, and some are in wheel-chairs so you have to lift them...the thought of going back scares the poo out of me but I miss them right now and know that I will probably jump on the first chance I get to return to working....

Crossroads - I can't believe you mowed the grass after having surgery only 3 weeks ago. I had surgery the same date as you and I wouldn't even think of the mowing the lawn. How did you feel afterward? Please take care of yourself. We are not even suppose to vacum.

At least I know for sure that from Wed-Fri I will most likley be sitting at my desk with a long line of kiddles outside my door. Monday I will do a bulletin board then I have desk work to do. I am SO not ready for school to start
Hope everyone is recovering nicely. I stopped posting on the recovery board, I could never remember what page I was on

Hi, Captain Crunch

Good to see you are back at work and surviving. I plan to go in a couple of days next week as I am woefully behind at my college. I can feel it. Today I wore regular capri jeans for the first time in a MONTH. My belly won't fit into hardly anything. I just got back from a 3 mi. walk. It's cool out.. in the 60's, so it was 'easy' to get the six laps in tonite. I've run myself ragged this week w/the bridge falling down (my daughter/granddaughter usually crossed at the time it fell but were over it earlier bec. DD didn't work that day; she had an interview and collected the granddaughter 'early'..).. my sister called in a panic asking if they were home yet when it happened. So that whole thing....I mourn not just for the whole thing but also for the bridge. One didn't even know she was crossing the Mississippi on that bridge bec. it was so massive and entwined w/other roads coming and going and exits for different places one right after the other. It's unbelievable. I've spent a lot of time in the whole mess as has everyone here in my area.

I tried to walk fast yesterday; didn't work. Thus, I walk, but not my regular pace. I haven't lost an ounce but at least i've maintained my weight. I'd hate to think if I didn't walk, because I eat no matter what...well, except for Wed. nite when I was hunting down people bec. of the bridge and Th. a.m. when still hunting. But aside from that, I eat. I try to eat healthy, but I just don't burn calories, even w/thyroid meds!!

Well, ma'am, it's been nice getting to know you. I'm sure you are right; some of these people are off running around tonite. Me, being a single mom and mom of a single mom (meaning granddaughter is here almost every weekend while DD works...and teen daughter is ALWAYS sleeping over at some friend's house this summer)...... Me being that person I am home. As usual. It's not so bad to rest. Really. I have a bunch of magazines to read and try to pick up around here. As soon as I pick up it just means someone puts something down on the space I just cleared. Does that happen to you? And I fold laundry and it never leaves the machine in the laundry area.

Take care......................rest up tomorrow for all those kids next week!

E.

Hi Captain Crunch, Elefante and Crossroads, I'm on for a little while now. Wow, I did alot today for the first time and i wore my favorite bermuda shorts!!! That was the first time I was able to fit into anything "regular" of mine. I did keep the button unbuttoned though because I could feel my belly button being very sore. DH was awesome! He took me to the teacher store to buy a few things since i will begin setting up my room on monday. My admin has been great, allowing me to get back into my room a week early so that i can set up a little at a time. We also went to church and I was so happy to make it through the whole service, worship and all! We also stopped at Walmart to get a few supplies for dd's senior year at highschool. I didnt feel tired at all walking But I am swollen. Gosh i cant stand this swelly belly. I hope I'll be able to get into my school clothes by the time school starts officially again.
I hope everyone is having a good Saturday night. I just picked up a new book to start reading and I made myself a Swiss Mocha to go with it! Let's chat!
