How much weight did you lose?

How much weight did you lose immediately post-op? I don' t mean weeks afterward - where you might have lost weight from decreased appetite...I mean - did you have a significant (lol - yes, I know that is subjective - lol) weight loss in the first few days afterward - from the actual loss of the uterus, etc.? My dr. said to expect about 3 lbs. (if not 4) from the loss of my uterus alone - which he keeps telling me is "huge". LOL Just curious. MMT

How much weight did you lose?

My uterus was enlarged (I don't recall the weight of it). I didn't lose any weight immediately, I think because of swelling from the surgery. I eventually lost a couple of pounds which I gained back while I was recovering. So, no weight loss or gain for me because of the surgery.

How much weight did you lose?

funny, I asked my doc the same thing as a joke thinking it would be nice to lose some weight. It was some # of ounces, not pounds. I want to say 3oz. So it does sound like yours is larger than normal.

How much weight did you lose?

Hi, I'm 2 wks postop (TLH, kept ovaries). Also had what was called a "huge" uterus. About the size of 4 month preg, which was very noticeable on my body because I'm petite. I would say I've lost at least 5 pounds. Good luck everyone!

How much weight did you lose?

I lost several pounds at first. Now at 5 years post-op, I'm about the same as I was pre-op. I'm within my "ideal" weigh range, so that's ok

Best wishes.

How much weight did you lose?

i didn't lose anything per se from the removal of my uterus. I came home 8 lbs heavier than going in a day before. But lost those almost immediately (fluids, gas I guess)... Am struggling to try to keep my weight down though.

How much weight did you lose?

My uterus weighed 360 grams which is a little over 3/4 of a pound. I did lose weight do to loss of appetite and having trouble with pain meds. I am still down about 10 pounds at 5 and a half weeks. I still eat smaller portions which I see as a plus!
My doctor said most women are disappointed that they don't lose a lot of weight from the uterus being removed, we tend to think that because our bellies are "fluffy" the uterus must weigh a lot.
Maybe after your recovered you will feel sooooo good that you will be more active and lose weight if you feel you need to.

Best wishes to you for a speedy recovery.

How much weight did you lose?

About 11 pounds at about 3 weeks out. Five of those keep jumping back on one day and back off the next. I wish they would make up their mind. Off or on... LOL

How much weight did you lose?

While I was sure my uterus weighed at least 20 lbs, unfortunately it must not have!

I lost 9-10 lbs in the first 2 weeks after surgery but I've found them all again!

I think the initial weight loss is from lack of appetite in the beginning, drinking lots of water and in my case, no wine or beer due to pain pills. Of course, as soon as I started to feel better, my appetite came back.

I guess the good news is I haven't gained any even without my regular daily power walks I was used to taking.
