Hooray to all of you that are finally sleeping at night! Aint it great?

I took a "power snooze" on the couch early evening yesterday and couldn't fall asleep at night for anything. :bedjump: Oh well! I tried reading a boring book and that didn't help. I tried thinking of happy things and that didn't help. I tried counting how many crickets I could hear chirping outside and that didn't help.

But tonight is a new night!

Nancy,
Ask your Dr. if the stool softeners are "addictive." I have enough to get me through the next year, if I need them. I am so afraid that becoming constipated at all will slow down the healing process and cause problems with straining and gas and all those fun things. I know certain types of laxatives may lead to dependency but I don't know about stool softeners.

Stool Softener

Taper off of those things and increase your fiber content and water intake. You keep using the laxative and you may not be getting enough nutrician to heal. Add some fruit juices too. Fiber One bars are good and will take care of a chocolate craving at the same time.

Hi Sisters, 2 weeks 2 days post partial hyst, uterus only. Feeling much better then last week. However, the last 2 nights I can not get to sleep. Anyone else having this problem. DH took me to the grocery store today (big outing) and back home. We watched a comedy show Southern Chicks and I laughed for 1/2 hour holding my stomach. Now I'm all crampy and feeling like day 7. Hope it's better tomorrow. Think I'm going to grab an ice pack and lay down for a while. Only took 10 min nap today, so hopefully I can sleep tonite.
Sounds like everyone else is doing good as well. Thank goodness week 1 & 2 are behind us.

Tee hee. At least your funny bone is still functioning. I hope we all will sleep like logs tonight. In the meantime, here's an idea. My DS recommended listening to a mp3 or ipod to wind down. In fact, DH was desperate enough to get me asleep, he went out and bought an ipod while DS was visiting so he could show me how to download music and set things up. I used it last night and had a great night sleep. I didn't leave it on, paranoid, I guess, But it did really relax me. I'll try it again tonight.

Thank God for all of you!!

I am so glad for this website and all of you. I do not post very often, but I do read a lot of posts. I am very anxious to be back to normal--although I think normal as I know it is gone. I am emotional, exhausted, hot flashing and night sweating (I am sorry for all of the menopausal women that I used to make fun of). I am on provera, my doctor does not want to put me on estrogen until he is sure that endometrial cells are gone--he said about 6-9 weeks. I drove for the first time since my 7/18 surgery--now I know why they don't want you to drive or go back to work too soon. I am pretty sore right now--I have not taken anything stronger than Ibuprofen for about a week, but I may contemplate taking a percoset if it doesn't let up. I walked about 1 1/2 mi this morning as well--I know, did way too much !!! Well, thanks for letting me vent, and hang in there ladies, you are all great.

ICK! I don't like swelly belly!

Underwent 45min VH on Monday, July 23. All went extremely well, according to Doc. My back pain and gas pains were the worst (also, no one told me about getting plugged up, if ya know what I mean. That was awful!). Anyway, I don't have much pain anymore. However, I can't stand this swelly belly! I can't wear any shorts or pants without extreme discomfort. I tend to be an on-the-go person, and I am having difficulty slowing down. Thursday after surgery, I did way too much and paid the price on Friday. I was totally worthless all day and couldn't get off the couch. I am learning to slow down and use my energy in moderation. I have to remind myself to stop and rest after doing the dishes or putting away laundry etc..(and no, I don't lift the basket). I can't wait to get back to normal speed and a moderately flat stomach. However, I do like the excuse to stay out of the kitchen.
When will my stomach get back to normal size after a VH?

Yawn

Well I walked a bit longer this morning but started feeling woobly. I went to the Chiropractor today and at least got my neck adjusted so that certianly feels alot better. With those two outings I am feeling wiped out. I can't seem to get myself to take a nap. My eyesight has been really weird the last couple of days, really off and blurry, not sure what that is all about.
That is about it for today. Maybe I should do my nails.

Now that I have my staples out i am feeling alot better. If anyone was on the North east coast and heard a scream around 11:15 sowy that was me. MY staples always get stuck and yesterday was no different.

The elusive BM actually happened on monday and I have had one every day since yay me!. The only issue that I have is since I lost so much blood I keep getting those icky headaches. Not having an appetite doesn't help much but my mom has me using an old remedy that helped the last time. Drink about a 6oz glass of Manichevitz grape wine a day. It helps build your blood levels up a little faster. The last surgery I had I lost a lot of fluid as well and within 2-3 wks I wasn't having those headaches anymore. I still take my iron but it all works together.

For all you Dark Shadows folks I read that they are in talks with Johnny Depp to bring it back. I don't know if they mean the movie or to TV. I saw it mentioned last week on this program at a comic-book convention (Comic-Con).
