Sounds like you had a busy day. I did some driving today but mine is an automatic so fairly easy. That is going to be a lot leg work shifting . Good luck to you when you start driving.

Stephanie
Well smack my mama! We've been driving all the way to Seattle for them (that's where Microsoft put us up while house hunting and we found it then). We ended up in Redmond because I refused to pay .5 million for a house. We've been here for almost 2 years now. Do you ever get a chance to come "home"?

Barnie- How was Bourne 97? I'm dying to see it.

Back on topic: When I got home today, had a coughing fit and felt almost like a "rip" sensation on the end of my incision that is completely healed. Does anyone know if the stiches are layered, maybe?

Driving

So funny, I re-read the last few pages of posts, and we sound like a bunch of 16 year olds.

"So kewl, I get to drive on Monday"

"Fer sure, you going to have so much fun, I got to start driving last week!"

"Like, I don't know if I'm ready or not, I have to check and see".

"DUH! Didn't you listen to the dr?"

I had my first real day "out" since coming home. I walked to my friends house a few houses down for a cookout.

I took my pillow cause we always laugh so hard at her parties - was a great time but I hadn't planned on staying so long.

Now Im really sore....wonder if that was moving around enough for the doc? =D

O my gosh you just made me laugh so hard. Yes it is right off of I-90 over by the Fred Meyer and Home Depot. Off of Lake Sammaish Parkway
Can't imagine why you wouldn't want to pay that much. I actually still work for my company in Bellevue so I get up there every few months. Except for now of course.

I am sorry about the rip sensation. I think there are layers of stiches but I am not sure. I hope you didn't do anything.

Take care
Stephanie

You all are good for the soul

I don't post much, but I do read a lot and you all have answered so many of my questions.

I went to the doc on Thursday, my first outing. I have an UTI, which means more meds, oh joy for me, like I didn't have enough already. Plus she gave me something else to help with the gas pains to take along with the stool softner. This has actually helped alot. Plus she wanted me to contiune with the pain meds. She told me another two weeks off work for sure, which didn't make my boss happy since she wanted me back on the 30th of July....yep a week after my surgery. My doc told me that she is the boss in this case and that my boss would just have to deal with it.

My surgery took four hours because of all of the scar tissue and adhesions on my bowels that had to be removed before she could even get to the uterus. I guess that my intestines were pulled down and covering my uterus. At one point she thought that she had punctured my bladder so she had to take out the cath and scope me then put the cath back, no wonder I got an UTI.

I still have to take a daily nap. My DD and DS have been taking really great care of me while DH is working. DS is only six and he is always asking if I need anything. So sweet. I don't seem to have much energy to do much of anything. Taking a shower exhaust me. So then it is back to resting!

I can't believe how good I've felt the last 2 days. I suddenly noticed yesterday I don't double over when my bowels begin to move. It is also feeling less 'weird' when I urinate as well.
Today feeling rather ambitious so I hopped online quickly to upload an old Tom Tom Club album onto my iPod then I'm off to try my preop walk (that didn't fare so well a week and a half ago) My 11 yo has demanded that I also take my cell phone incase I need my dh to come around and pick me up.

Good Morning Sistahs!

Hugclub- I love it when kids come up with such sensible ideas that I haven't thought of. Who is really more wise?

Lola-Take it easy GF, you are just exactly where you are supposed tobe. Sounds like your guts mirrored mine. Apparently my entire torso is covered in adhesions from a prior infection. They had to cut throught the adhesions, then through the endo, to get to any of my parts. My intestines apparently were glued to everything, especially my bladder. So needless to say, the doc said that because they had to "handle" my intestines and bladder so roughly they went into shock and I was consipated for 9 days. I thought I would explode! I gulped warm a glass of warm prune juice with my stool softeners everyday and finally day 9 was a GLORIUS DAY! The doc also kept me on an extended pain med regimen. I finally tapered off the meds 3 days ago. (I think I had withdrawls). Anyway, Chin up and think about posting more often if you can, great therapy!!!!

Good Morning (almost afternoon)!
The last few days have gone fairly well. I'm sleeping again, with the help of meds... but hey, it's sleep! We had company over Thursday night, and I laughed so hard I was hurting. Didn't think about that ahead of time. Oops. But I should know that with our group of friends, major laughs are part of getting together. So, since I didn't learn my lesson on Thursday night, we went out Friday night with other friends ~ two more separate groups. Again, lots of laughter and whatnot. But, honestly... even though I was/am sore from laughing and all the activity, it was SOOOO nice to be out and about and around other people again! I think it helped lift my spirits, as I've been really feeling down about being stuck at the house, unable to drive, unable to go places, etc. I think I'm going to try and drive today. It's less than 10 blocks to the library, and I have some books to return... so I figure that will be a good 'first trip'. Reading has been my big time-passer. I've been through so many books already! A girlfriend of mine brought me like 10 books, and I'm almost through her stack, as well as some I bought, and the ones I got from the library. I have been introduced to new authors, though, so it's been a good thing.

How's everyone else's weekend going?
