I should know by now that things just don't go easily. Why would I expect anything else with recovery?! Well, I went to the doctor on Thursday about the pain in my lower right abdomen... and did the bloodwork, etc... and everything showed to be normal. Friday, I spent the day just chilling ~ didn't do much of anything. Friday night, I was getting ready for bed, so I went to the potty. Get this... I was sitting down to go to the potty (yeah, yeah, laugh it up) and I felt something pop. A horrible pain short through my stomach and down my right leg. It gave out, and I fell to the potty. Well, tended my business and whatnot and then couldn't get up. My leg was too shaky and the pain was INTENSE. So, Clay had to help me get up and out of the bathroom. I made it to the foot of the bed, and we decided it was time to go to the ER. I was in tears because the pain was so intense. So, Clay took me to the ER, and they did more bloodwork, x-rays, etc. It's been determined that I've most likely torn something in my abdomen. Since there's no hernias or whatever, they didn't consider it an emergency and just told me to get back on my pain killers and basically stay on bedrest for a few days to try and let it start healing. JOY! So I spent all of yesterday in bed. I'm taking my pain meds about every 4 hours again. I go from being in pain to feeling loopy, dizzy, nauseated. Not very much fun.

So... that's my update for now. I'm not even suppose to be on the computer, but thought I'd make a quick trip. Take care, everyone. Hopefully I'll be back around in a few days.

hang in there girl

You are the princess, Be the princess, Embrace the princess!

I am sorry for your frustration. I hope that recovery is much quicker than before and that you can find something to do that will help you stay quiet for a while.

Boredom is my greatest enemy. Greater than pain, in fact, because it invites the pain back. Perhaps you can have a hero go to the craftstore and get you something you would be interested in doing. Like scrapbooking those old forgotten photos, or to make a present for somebody. Send thankyou cards to those you owe thanks to. Or, grab another good read.

My sister sent me a craft kit that can be done in a lounging position. It will be a Christmas present for someone in my family, so I feel I am doing something beneficial.

sorry Angel

how scary that must have been!
i too seem to be in a slump again after having a few good days.
But now I have a cold on top of it and am dizzy and have abdominal pains again so i just took some pain pills and I laying in bed...yesterday I spent the better part of the day in bed because of my cold. I was actually thinking I just may be ready to go back to work next week, now I am not too sure....
I agree boredom is the worst part...I went through 2 great books but can't work up the energy to make it to the book store or library to get a new one...it is everything I have to get the twins ready for school and try to figure out what shoes and clothes i can wear next week on my business trip if i end up going....
luckily though I have manages to keep the weight off that I lost except for 3 pounds that came with the pizza binge but they are gone already so that is a plus...
BTW...
CAN ANYONE TELL ME WHEN i CAN LAY ON MY BELLY???

belly bottoms

I tried laying on my belly this weekend. It didn't hurt, but just wasn't comfortable for very long. It did give my back a brief happiness. I just couldn't relax long in that position.

Hi ladies,
I rejoice with those recovering well and I pray for those who find challenges in this recovery.

I am back in my life. I am sleeping through the night. I have been driving for a week and that keeps me busy with all the errand running I missed. Today I'm headed to the teacher's store and tomorrow to decorate my classroom.

On Saturday, we leave for our beach vacation, not looking forward to the packing, but the relaxing there will be great.

Thank you all for the wonderful support and sharing of information that has helped me so much.
Good luck to all of you!

Hey fancymel,

Today I am 6 weeks post-op and this weekend I laid on my belly...it didn't hurt but it felt a little strange. I have also been doing yoga again twice in the last 2 weeks and it's not as uncomfortable as time passes. You'll get there. Not sure what type of surgery you had but listen to your body and honor it. Have a great day. Happy healing.

Oh, and the dizzyness...I too had that...it seems to go away...hang in there.

Good maorning Sisters! I am back at work today. Wah-h-h-h. Actually, it is nice to be back cuz that makes me one day closer to NEXT SUMMER! Yayyyyy!

I've been able to lie on my belly for a couple of weeks now. It wasn't all that comfy at first but once things limber back up, it'll be better for you. I am a side-sleeper so I don't think I lie on my belly at night for long periods of time....but who knows since I'm asleep, thank goodness!

Have a good day. I'll peek in on y'all when I get a break!

Thanks so much for prayers and suggestions, headache is gone but everything remains the same. I just wanted to let you know that I have a phone into the DR. and am waiting. I know that sometimes when I'm worried about somebody and don't hear from them, I start writing all sorts of tragic stories about what might have happened to them...they fell dead in the kitchen, they are delirious and drove off into the sunset, they were kidnapped by aliens....And I didn't want to put you all throught that I'll post again this afternoon with more news from the Dr. oxoxoxxo for all

week 4

Hello all! It's been 4 weeks tomorrow since my big day. Last week this time I felt soooo good I overdid it - Walmart 3 times, washed clothes, etc. I have paid for that ever since. All I do now is very little. I mostly sleep - I walk to the mailbox, to feed the chickens & around the house some but I'm just exhausted & take naps every few hours. I'm not taking Replivia anymore maybe that has something to do with this lack of energy or maybe I'm just healing. I go back to my GYN for my 6 wk check up in 2 weeks. Hopefully I'll be released to go back to work. I'm a secretary/loan auditor/gopher. I hope tonight to be able to sleep in my bed with DH instead of the recliner. It would be nice to stretch out. or would that be uncomfortable?HA who cares! The patch seems to be working for me better - I'm not crying all of the time but I do have a few mood swings every now and then. "Ain't life grand!"!!! Have a wonderfully happy day sisters!!!!
