Hi Everyone!!

Oh, Christie I am so sorry you are going through this bad time. Hang in there, God doesn't give us more than we can handle. It sounds like things are starting to get better with your DH getting a job. I hope you start feeling better really soon. Good luck on giving up the cokes! Do you like tea? It is suppose to be good for you and might be a good alternative. I
really do like tea and coffee of course!! I've been feeling really fatigue lately too. I'm longing for warmer weather. I dislike cold weather more than anything. I should live in Florida but my kids and grandkids are here and I don't want to leave them.

I'm looking forward to going to a Super Bowl party Sunday. I don't really like football but I am looking forward to the party and being with friends.

Well guess I'll go for now and do some shopping
I'll pray for you Christie. I hope the next time you post you are feeling better.

Hi Everyone,
I cant believe it's been 6months. As for my recovery it's been faily uneventful except those first several weeks. I still have moments that I have to remember that its only been a short time.
There are only a couple problems I seem to be having. The worst one is I seem to check more colds and flues than before. I'm trying to stay healthy. As for the hot flashes, night sweats and unable to sleep the whole night except dang. I have recently started drinking a tea that seems to be helping with the sleep. I've also started working out every day at work and at home.
Like others I dont miss that monthly visitor but I still find myself looking for her. I still get the twinges some of you have talked about but I had a breast reduction 5yrs ago and new those were part of recovery.
I do miss that chats and the sisterhood that we formed because of this board.

Well, hello, everybody. I've been so caught up in schedules I have not taken a moment to log in.

Christie! Yikes! Girl, you must be made of strong stuff. I agree with Happycook. God knows what you can handle. There have been time, though, when I have begged Him to stop the test before I reach the end of my tether.

I remember one time during my childcare business years, there was a little girl that really tested my "no corporal punishment" policy I had. Note this policy was still on the upcoming trend in childcare back then and not the standard it is now. Anyway, this little one caused me to doubt my ability to provide a "nurturing environment", while she whined and whimpered and ON PURPOSE peed on my carpets just after getting off the potty. She would do things like this to observe people's reactions, not unlike a behavioral scientist would do. God must have sent His angels to lift me up in their wings (check out Ps 91) I never resorted to manic behavior but to this day, I give God credit for keeping one of His precious ones safe. (I am referring to me, not that little precious child of.....well, nuff said)

Christy, I know this is trite compared to what you are toughing out, but I just wanted to bring you a chuckle. God has a sense of humor, too. And we are made in His image.

Debbie, good to hear from you. Glad you are recovering well. As for the colds and flu, try Zicam. I am sold on it . I have had 3 or 4 little colds that only lasted a 2 - 3 days.

Happy Groundhog day....barnie

Thanks Happycook and Barnabusa!! You guys are so sweet!! I can only imagine the precious little one from day care Barnabusa!! I used to work in a day care myself!! LOL And yes I did need to laugh! I have a new test to battle now you guys. Its called Multiple Sclerosis !! I had an MRI of my brain come back abnormal. This is the second abnormal MRI I have had within a year or so, maybe a little longer. Yesterday,Friday, I went to get a full spine MRI. Took about 3 hours! Thats a long time for me to be in a tube and have to be very still!! LOL Actually I was in there an hour at a time, but still !! I am still going to get afew other tests done, like blood work, and something called an Evoke something or another. Guess I will find out huh. I am waiting to see if I qualified for some insurance provided by the state I live in. Not medcicade or Medicare, but some new kind of state insurance, for medical only. If I do get it then I can see the neurologist , I so desperatly need to see. My doctor says the earlier the treatment begins for MS the better it is. She says shes very concerned for me, cause she knows I have no insurance and that I cant afford the specialists and the meds for it. SO please pray for God to provide a way for these things to happen, for God to open those doors!! In Jesus mighty name!!! I was so sad when they first told me about this. But I have been praying and I have done some research on the computer too. So I am not so scared anymore. Its worse , I think, not knowing whats wrong with you. Thats so frustrating!! I have so many illnesses going on its hard for me to keep up sometimes! Ha! God is a great doctor sand a mighty healer too! SO I am not accepting this MS! And I will keep you all informed as much as possible. I know this disease affects everyone different too. As for me it affects my memory, my speech, my walking ,my thinking, my decision makinig and etc. I have good days and bad days, as we all do I suppose. I am tired allot, and I get frustrated easily. My poor family!! They have to put up with me though. They are Great too!! I am really blessed to have them! Thank you Jesus!! Well I will be tlaking to you all soon! Its so good to hear from all of you! Its been almost 7 months for me now. So thankful I have no more periods!! Just wonder when everything else will fall into place!? God Bless You All! Happy Super Bowl Day!! What team is everyone going for???

Just wanting to wish my lovely ladies a Happy Valentine's Day...miss hearing from y'all!!

All's been good. Just got over a two week bout with bronchitis! And now, after two antibiotics, I have another yeast infection...and yeah, I've been taking acidophilus AND eating yogurt!!

So, we have our 'mid-winter' break this coming week. Yay. I still have grad school classes, but according to my calculations, there are only 148 days until I sit in my last graduate class for a long, long time!! I've heard that graduation will take place on August 15, but that will be an informal ceremony...I have to wait until May of next year (UGH) to walk with the Master's Hood!! Sadness...Oh well...I'll be able to apply for permanent teacher certification and oh wow, 10 years of study will be completed!

So, that's what's going on. Still looking forward to the cruise this summer. August 4~it'll be awesome to celebrate with my hunny!

Christie, sorry to hear all about your multiple sclerosis. The Lord will take care of you, and you have the faith to know that. Keep in touch with us here, let us know how you are doing. Sorry I haven't had the chance to write sooner. Please know that I think of you often, and that I lift you in my thoughts and prayers.

Well...I'm going to finish my glass of wine, and join the hubby in bed for an early evening. It's been a long week...teachers at work have been sick with this nasty stomach virus and my assistant has been pulled to substitute in other classes, so I'm teaching two grade levels on my own, it's tough, but we are (somehow-by the Grace of God) getting things done!

Again, Happy Hearts Day, love you all!!

Hello all!!

I hope every one is doing well. Christie, I hope all your tests turned out good. I thinking and praying for you.

We have had a bad week here. We had a really bad winter storm with snow and lots of ice. A lot of businesses and schools were closed. Unfortunately my business was open and I had to drive in it to get to work but I made it safely which I am thankful for. It's been a really stressful week at work and home and I felt like I was going nuts! I am glad it's over. I had the day off today and didn't even leave the house. Just felt like resting and taking it easy.

Anyone seen any good movies lately? I rented a few the other day at the library but haven't watched them yet.

I hope you all have a nice weekend. I have some shopping to do on Saturday (Thats what I get for putting it off today but oh well I needed the rest)

I hope you are all feeling better! After bragging about having short sniffles, I got the hum-dinger of colds. Must have been the dreaded flu. I think I got over it but it was rushed along by mind numbing grief, causing me to cry so much that I must have flushed my sinuses out with my tears.

Tuesday, I dropped my nine year old golden retriever, Roy, off at the vet. He had been off his feed for a while, but he still played with his little bro, our shih tzu pup. I thought he just had a kidney infection because his urine seemed pretty dark. All he needed was an antibiotic and some TLC. An hour later, I was told he was a pretty sick old dog in liver failure with spots on his lungs. I could prolong his life long enough for invasive diagnostic procedures to confirm cancer, but the outcome would be the same. We brought his unfamiliarly still body home that afternoon.

It is still hard to believe a creature whom we accused of having more than one dog living inside his body due to his unbelievable energy and hyper activity, can be gone. He even tried to initiate play with our puppy that morning, but he made an odd noise and looked at me so balefully. I patted his head and said, "Oh poor boy, you just don't feel good do you. We will get you all fixed up so you can play again."

The ironic point to his too short life is that we rescued him exactly nine years ago to the day. He was a very sick puppy when we brought him home then. The vet told us he was lucky we got him when we did because he probably would have been put down in just a few more days.

Wyoming winters causes the ground to freeze a couple of feet down. We chisel out a few inches at a time hoping to get him buried next to his lifelong playmate by tomorrow. We live in the country and are afraid scavengers will get to him before we can lay him to rest. I am just glad we live in the country where we can bury our dear furry friends on our property.

Well, enough...sniff. As much as it hurts to say goodbye to them, I can't imagine not having a four legged best friend in my life. Huh, I like to think that God rewards good dogs. Roy is running in a field with no fences with his little buddy who died last year trotting along beside him.If there isn't a doggy heaven, then I hope that the short time these gifts of God are in my life, they are happy and loved and cared for.

Perhaps when I get to heaven, I will get to be reunited with them all. I have had some dandies with only a few duds. They have all been a credit to their Creator.

Now, hasn't this been cheery....

Barnabusa, I am so sorry about your loss. Your precious dog was blessed to have you in his life. You seem to be a very loving and caring person and I am sure your dog felt this love.

Through your replies, your wonderful personality comes forth. You have a gift that makes everyone feel better. Thank you so much for being you!!

Hi Barney,

I wanted to send my thoughts and prayers to you. I'm sorry for the loss of such a beloved friend and family member...HappyCook said it so gracefully...your faith will get you through.

When my black lab was put down after 12 years, it was very difficult, especially since my children were only 6 and 10 years of age, and their dad had recently left us. But, as difficult as it was to see her in such pain that she couldn't even get herself off of the floor to go to the door to pee, we would laugh and have fun thinking of her and the way she 'used to be'...tearing into the garbage, jumping on the furniture, etc!

Soon, you'll remember the good times and be able to smile. Know that your friends here grieve with you!

God bless you!
