The sore belly is a issue for me also. I tried to wear jean capris today but that lasted less than 2 hours. I was looking at your information and we had similar problems before we had our surgery and we are about the same age. I will be 35 next month. Hope you all stay healthy.

Gas Pain at 2 weeks?

Tomarrow will be two weeks since my surgery (laparoscopic). I was doing better each day for the first week but for the last 4 or 5 days I have had constant sharp pain/pressure in the rectal area - I guess it is gas but it is worse this week than it was in the beginning. Is this normal? It feels like something is going to fall out when I get up and it feels like I am sitting on a baloon when I sit down. Once I sit and get comfortable I dont want to move. I have hardly done anything since Friday - slept all day today because I couldnt take it anymore. Oh, and I have been crying for 2 days. I dont know if I am depressed over the surgery/cancer (even though the pathology report was as good as it could be.), or if it is hormonal. I just feel depressed and sick of being in pain. I never had gas pains in the chest or ribs - just a pain in my butt! Anyone else have gas pains 2 weeks post surgery? Is it better or worse than the first week?

Keep in touch!

Jen- how are you doing? Looks like we had pretty much the same surgery on the same day. I had my 2 week follow up today and everything checked out fine. Finally can drive!

Brenda - how are you doing?

Surely there are more than 3 of us in this clubhouse???!!!

Cathy ~ Hey there. I'm doing good. Had my two week post-op appt on Monday. I too got clearance to drive and do steps. Recovery is going well for me. I feel pretty much "back to normal" in the mornings. However, as the day wears on, so do I. Them more activity, the more swelly and sore I get. Nothing unbearable, but definately uncomfortable at times.

I did come down with a yeast infection under my breasts. Seems weird to me, but guess it isn't all that uncommon.

You are correct in that there are dozen's more sisters w/in this time frame ... most are posting on the "Recovery Progress Reports for Hysterectomy dates Jul 23-Jul 30,2007 " but that thread seems very impersonal to me. Would much rather converse with you and Brenda, and anyone else that wants to join us here.

How are you doing? Hope all's well! Please update when you have time!

Tomorrow is my 2 week check up! I feel pretty darn good! I do get tired easy. Went camping for 5 days! it was great. I didn't have to do anything! just sit and enjoy the very HOT weather! Bleeding has stopped too! AND, no pain. that's a very good thing. Sorry to hear that some of you aren't doing as well. I'll keep my fingers crossed that it will imporove for you!

Yes indeed, it occasionally gets to me too...the gas pains just come out of the blue and boy do they hurt!

I think it's also that your system doesn't feel quite right, isn't it?

You know a friend of mine said that, it's ok to cry about this once and awhile, after all, many of us had something taken away that we weren't really intending to give up...
I know if we had this for another problem that it is a mercy to have it over with, but, every once in awhile, it hits us.

I had a little tinge when I asked, 'so do I still have a cervix?' and they told me no. Yikes. That was weird!

2 week check up??

is everyone having a 2 week check up but me? i don't go back til 6 weeks out...sept 4. i don't think i need a 2 week check up...i have no stitches to come out or anything like that. i did call my doc today to find out if he'd give me the go ahead to go back to work next week part time. he said if i promised not to work more than 3 or 4 hours a day that it was ok with him. so that's my plan. as far as gas is concerned....i was very lucky and never had any problems with gas, but i hear that gas-x works good. good luck everyone. my good thoughts go out to all!
