Hi from Tullyoh!

Hi sisters,

I'm a bit like Floralina in that I haven't posted for a few days due to having a life! Now I can drive again I have a bit of freedom so have been out and about having coffee or lunch with friends. Always followed by a 2-3 hour rest/sleep in the afternoon I should add.

I feel fabulous and have to keep reminding myself that I still can't lift too much. On the weekend I carried in a tray from outside and it only had three plates and two coffee mugs on it, but it was at the limit of my current capacity and so I just really took it easy for the rest of the day.

My DH and I looked at some display homes at the weekend and went out for lunch which was lovely. Feel like the brain is slowly getting back into gear.

I think the hardest thing for those of us recovering well is the tendency to do just a bit more than we should. I'm gradually getting family to help around the house with things I still can't do as I can't stand super-mess. Ordinary mess I can deal with, but super-mess really stresses me.

To those of you having a tougher time in the recovery stakes, please hang in there. I still believe as others have said, that we all have different rates of recovery, depending on our pre-op status, and so we just have to take time to pamper the princess for as long as it takes.

Cheers and s to all,

Linda

[font=Comic Sans MS]Hi reford
Sorry to hear you are feeling so low - BUT -
GIVE YOUSELF A BREAK..............!!!!! com on - its only a few weeks post op - everyone is different - you have had complications, you have got to take ONE THING AT A TIME. You have everyright to feel this way but at this time when hormones are going crazy and your body is trying to heal you have to listen to it.
You wont always feel this poorly and the bad days will get less and the better days more, but it will take time. wishing you a speedy recovery

Good morning, Sisters!

I wanted to say thanks and that it means a lot to me that so many of you responded with reassurances that things will get better; that we all recover at different rates... and while it does make me sad to hear that others are having problems, too, in a way it's good to know that I'm not the only 4 week post-op person on the planet that's not moving furniture, throwing garage sales, or jumping on a trampoline with their kids! (eww... the very THOUGHT! Ouch!!)

They are having trouble getting my PT (clotting) level in the correct range, so they keep doing blood tests and changing my dosage. Today I meet for the first time with the blood doc. He's the one who'll decide if I can go back on my Vivelle patch.

I was interested to read what sillyputty said about avoiding hormones for a few months to allow endo tissue to die off. Maybe if my doctors won't allow me to immediately go back on hormones that would be for the best...? Trying to put a positive spin on this craziness.

It helps to see how much more I can do now versus two weeks ago. Getting in and out of bed isn't painful, I can sleep on my side again, and I'm driving. I've even braved the mall (well, one or two of the department stores, for about an hour and a half) and I'm back into the routine of loading and unloading the dishwasher, and doing the laundry (when hubby hauls the laundry basket from room to room). I get tired easily and am sore by the end of the day...and bending down and standing up is still pretty painful. But all in all, this is better.

...now, if I can just get the blood thinner/hormone thing under control...

Thanks and big hugs to my supportive sisters. I hope y'all are getting better every day!

well, I've begun getting the hot flashes in earnest. now I see what they meant!

My best friends are going through menopause naturally, and everything is relative, but this is really uncomfortable...whew.
I mean without those ovaries to help out the process, it's rough.

Ok, I'm going to have to go back on my decision about HRT I think. I may have to massacre my spouse if I don't.

We were going through major trouble when this happened...and now, it's not like it is over.

I have to vent here...he threw all MY lclean laundry on the floor because he needed the dryer for a new load. Other suggestions might have been, table, chair, bed...but no...on the floor.
I went out rather than act like the wasp woman and scream...then got back, the new load with only my stuff was on the floor and then, my jackets were downstairs on the coat rack and he tossed them onto the floor of my closet...

This is rough...as the hot flashes are coming in now, and I can't be my 'sweet self.'

HOpe I get a job...waiting for news.

Wow, that is too bad your husband is being such a jerk... I hope things get better for you. I am four weeks post op and doing pretty well. My tummy is sore yet and I get kinda of weak after sitting at work for a couple hours. I do office work, so not very strenuous. I am wondering when I could start riding my bike? I used to ride about 4 miles a day, I know I am gaining weight, not excersing and eating everything in site. I have most of hot flashes at night. I bought a little fan, and keep that on bedside table, seems to help. My face and neck have been so itchy, but I am thinking it might be from the sweat? My incision looks great. I have to move belly to see it too. I had two C sections, so she cut on the dotted line. I got several bills already.. wonder if we can compare the billings just for fun.. my anthestesia.. was over 4000.. one hospital bill was 12,000. I hope my insurance pays well. Ok.. better actually work while I am at work..haha.. My hubbie thinks sex sounds good.. ah.. no.. not interested.. I have helped him out several times, if you know what I mean.. sorry too much info. bye

The bills here are getting up to about sixty thousand dollars total...I mean what they billed the company and the company pays only a fraction of that as they're preferred providers. I am going to get it into a nice neat pile, then call the company and say, 'who do I really pay and how do I do it?'

I figure throwing laundry on the floor would be any woman's trigger...much less this premature surgical menopause stuff.
I was already dreading the menopausal years with him but this is worse than I had expected because I had the operation.

Huskerjen:

Thanks for reply. I feel better now. I have cycles of heat, itchy, tingly too!
I bought the swelly belly band, and I freeze it and wear it. It feels great cause we have had hot weather in CA lately.

I am going to make my 6 week post op appointment today.

Thanks again!

Hi sisters,

Floralina, good luck with the job - hope you hear good news and that your DH doesn't throw the washing on the floor. I would've been mad too and I'm on hrt!

downtowndori - hi. My info sheet from the hospital said cycling from 6 weeks onwards, but if you get the okay from your doctor to ride earlier, then go for it. My bike is sitting up on the workbench in the garage just waiting for my 6 week check-up. I just settle for my two 30 min walks each day and feel pretty good.

To reford - glad to hear your life is settling down somewhat. Hope all continues to heal at a steady pace and that you get the blood thinner/hormone stuff under control.

I had a pretty full-on day yesterday and today I feel like I need to sleep all day. I did have a rest yesterday arvo, but still feel shattered today. But that's what I tell myself will happen. So might go and have a lie down girls.

Keep on pampering yourselves.

Love and s to all,
