Hi Jen . I got lost in the recovery thread as well. We had our surgery on the same day and I also return to work today . I feel good, just get a little tired too easy. Sleeping problem here as well . I took some OTC sleep meds last night and was sleeping really good when my DH's cell phone rang and woke me up at 11:00. Of course, he was in the shower and the phone was across the room on the dresser. Then it took me 2 hours to go back to sleep . Well, have a great day!

Cheryl, I'm doing a lot better....thanks for asking! My machine was taken off my incisional wounds on Sunday....made me feel like a new person! Now I can take a shower anytime I want to, whereas before I could only shower (no baths) M-W-F and none on the weekends! I think just being clean is going to make me feel like a new person! My wounds are healing up GREAT! I'm so happy!

I don't remember who it was that was talking about their incision being infected...that's what I'm dealing with. Take care of it now....it will only get WORSE if you do not!! TRUST ME! I'm living proof!

I'm amazed at how totally different each one of us is....we're all having such different symptoms! The body is an amazing thing...as similar as they all are, they're all so completely unique! I'm so glad this forum is here....it gives me comfort to know that I'm not the only one going thru stuff and that what I am going thru is probably completely normal....if there is a "normal" in all of this!

I think the strangest symptom I've heard is the sore breasts.....wow, is that crazy hormones, or what?? The jokes are always about PMS-ing women with their crazy hormones. The jokes SHOULD be about us, huh?? (Not because I think it's funny at all, but just because I'm surprised there aren't jokes about it as hormonal as we ALL seem to be)

Well ladies, I feel pretty good today so I'm gonna go get busy (I'm sure I'll pay for it later). I SO hope that you all feel lots better today! I'm praying that for each of you before I ever leave this chair!

God is good!

Hello to all,

I'm just entering 6th week recovery. Question? Has anyone experienced a vaginal odor and is this normal? I couldn't stand myself for a couple of days but the odor has subsided and is not quite as strong!!

If you took a lot of antibiotics, maybe you had a yeast infection?

had my 6 week check up which included a pelvic exam. i was kinda nervous about that, but didn't need to be. it didn't hurt at all. doc says everything is healing nicely and released me to go about my normal activities. no restrictions at all. hubby is gonna be soooooo happy!

i will keep all of you that are having setbacks in your recovery in my thoughts and prayers. heal well ladies!!

Cathy ~ Well, I made it through my first day. About 5 hours and that was enough for me. I barely got in the door and had 3 people at my desk wanting to schedule meetings. Ugh! Maybe I should take that last week off! Anyway, I made it through pretty good except this problem with the nerve in my leg. The longer I sit, the sorer I get. Health Services made me see the ergonomics people, and they are going to replace my desktop with a stand/sit station (basicaly a high desk top with a bar stool like chair so I can stand when I need to). Anyway, I'm home now, and here I lay with an ice pack between my legs. It was good to get back though.

Can't remember, did you have a TAH too?

With the LSH, I had 3 incisions. Only one has healed correctly. One has always had a lump beneath it, and it continues to be swollen and red. The other is in my belly button and keeps re-opening due to clothing rubbing against it.

I'm feeling really good other than this aggravation. Think I can wait until my six-week appointment? It's next Monday.

I had my 6 week check up. Very relieved as there was no sign of cancer (I'd previously had an inconclusive report after a D&C). I'm cleared to swim gently and drive. My gynae is really pleased with my wound. He's not the type to specify exactly what I can do - just said to use common sense.
Mary.
