sex and stitches...

My surgery was 5/17 and my "green light" was right around the end of June. My husband was so excited we could be intimate again, and took it slow and was patient. But, he says the stitches inside poke him and now we're both leary of trying it again. How long till they should be completely gone??

They did mine vaginally, with a sling, back wall repair and supposedly a great "lift". Anyone have a clue to when everything should be better??

Thanks in advance!

I'm assuming you've been to your Dr. and he/she did an internal to check to make sure stitches have all dissolved. If DH is being poked, maybe you should go back to Dr. and have him/her check again to see what is going on?

Hmm I'm not quite sure, but I remember my doc's nurse telling me they usually didn't even start to disolve until somewhere between the 6-8 wk mark... I'm going to the doc on thursday, I will do my best to remember to ask... 'course we all know how well our memories are right now LOL

I hope someone here has a better answer... have you called your doc to ask?

I had this problem with my bladder sling procedure in March. Pubovaginal sling procedure. Got the green light at two weeks to resume activities.

He said he could feel something poking him. I called the dr and I was told that it was just the sutures. They take a bit longer to dissolve. In a week or two, they were gone.

Made me leary when it happened too. They will be gone worries.

I got the green light last week to resume activities after my hyst and today BF said he could kind of feel something. After a week... now he tells me. LOL

My fiance has had the same poking feeling from my sutures. I have had to go to the Doctor twice to get some snipped because mine haven't been dissolving. It has been almost 14 weeks and I still have undessolved sutures. What the Doctor can't understand is that the one's he has removed haven't even started to break down. Getting them snipped is very painful. He can't get to the rest without putting me under. I wonder if my body just can't get rid of this material or could the Doctor have used the wrong sutures? As long as they are still there I have pain with intercourse. The Doctor has treated me twice with that nitate solution, but still no results.

I still have problems since mine were snipped. Now there is a "pink tissue absess" that is causing the pain. He thinks it might be my fallopian tube ?? Either way, I'm scheduled for a day surgery 12/6 for removing whatever that is and going in laproscopically to check everything else out. I have cramps all day long, on and off. Annoying. Also, the painful times w/ hubby. My surgery was back in May, I'm ready for this to be over! Once they do the surgery, we'll have another period of abstaining. Hopefully, this will be the end. I hope your gets better soon!
