Nerves

I feel like I'm running in circles with one foot nailed to the floor.
Tomorrow at 9:30 I meet with my Rehab case worker to discuss my surgery and what Im going to do after the surgery. Im a nervous wreck. After waiting 18 months I'm terrified of two things at the same time; the first one being that they'll change my mind and I'll stay in prolapse limbo, or second they'll okay the surgery and I'll not live over it.
I'm just feeling really tense right now. I went to sleep at 5:30 this morning and feel an all nighter coming on again.
Argh!

I went through a period that I could not sleep also. I started taking Tylenol PM and it really helped. I still sometimes wake up during the night but it's mostly due to some shoulder pain that I have. Have you tried something OTC to help? I'm praying for peace for you, and that your meeting tomorrow will go well! Once this part is all settled it should help you relax a little. Let us all know what happens.

Nerves

I was so worried and scared before my op and kept crying all the time I was so stressed. I could not sleep or even think about anything else.
On my way down to the theatre I was shaking so much I was asked if I was cold.
The second I was given the anaesthetic I felt myself relaxing, the next thing I new I was in the recovery room. I was sooo pleased it was over and for the first couple of days after my op I felt on a high every time I thought about it being over.
The waiting is by far the worst thing, I didn't mind the pain after at least it was relieved by pain killers whereas the nerves beforehand did not ease at all, only got worse.
So please try not to worry, this really is the worse part, good luck x

Thanks all. I appreciate the love and support.
When I had my gallbladder removed five years ago I wasn't nearly as afraid as I am now. I was so sick at the time I didn't care.
Now I feel nervous as all get out.
Well, today's the day I talk to my rehab counsellor. In about two hours, I think. I'll post and let everyone know what we're gonna do.
Hugs
Pat

Your nerves sound pretty normal to me. I was a mess while waiting for my hyst. Coming here and learning that I wasn't alone was a big help. We'll be here for you too.
Best wishes at your appointment.
