no BC pills after LSH

I have been on different bc pills for 13 years to control bleeding. I have not needed them for BC for 15 years. Figures... we finish having kids DH has vasectomy then I have to go on the pill a few years later.

Anyway, my question is has anyone every had any problems after surgery with headaches and hormones from not taking them? The reason I ask is I am finally on a pill that I don't get very many headaches. The usual time is when I am on my period and it is horrible!!! Lasts for days until I start taking my pills again at the end of my cycle.

It's kind of weird I can't wait to get off the pill because I feel they really inpact my sex dirve but I am a bit afraid of the headaches and hormones.

I think I might lose my mind with obsessing before surgery. Just when I think I start feeling comfortable, I find someting else to worry about

Have a good day!

if the birth control pill really helps with the headaches, theres no reason why you cant stay on them. my girlfriend had her tubes tied and then needed to be on the pill for years after for painful ovulation. i doubt your dr would have a problem with it.

This is a very good question for you to ask your Dr . I have seen other women write about taking a BC Pill after a hysterectomy when they have kept their ovaries.

I don't know if this helps you or not, but I was on B/C that helped my horrible headaches (they only correlated with my period.) Stopped taking them, had my LSH July 3, and thankfully have not had them since!
