Hi Girls!

I'm back- my goodness, it's taken a long time to catch up- I better not stay away so long next time!!

Yesterday I had friends come over who cooked dinner for my family and the kids got to play a while- then I was exhausted, so I went to bed. Today, my dh wanted to go to a town that's about an hour and a half away to show me the flea market he goes to a lot- and they have lots of thrift stores (which I love!). So needless to say, I really wore myself out today!! But I got a few deals!!

I am still cathing- but the last time I peed 200mg and cathed 150mg- so it's getting better.

Heidi- Thank you for missing me! And your new furniture sounds really comfy!!

MollyPolly- I read your response on the Breast Health site- I took Navelbine-but it wasn't a pill- mine was given along with Adriamycin- I got them both through my port. Did you have a port the first time? Will you this time? My port scars are the worst- if you looked at me, you would think my cancer was on the right side with all the scars!!

Moss- I agree with everyone else- I have no idea what you're going through, but we're here to listen! Let us know if the situation works out so your daughter and children can move out- how old are her kids? I am praying that your situation gets better!

Hope all is well with everyone!
Take Care!

Thanks for the hugs, prayers and caring, Molly and Gardener and Heidi! That really helps.

Heidi - my daughter is similar to your little sister. She makes a lot of bad choices and then wants help when she has a crisis It would be easy to say no if it weren't for the kids. They went to a shelter, so it's a little easier now. There is still a lot of tension between my husband and me over the whole thing. sigh.

Thanks also for the ideas for making new friends if we do move (or even if we stay here!). The job is in a very nice little town in the fingerlakes.

Your new furniture sounds great! I'm jealous! lol

Mandy and Gardener - I had pain in my hip, too. The doctor said it was from the position I was in during surgery. Sometimes you get a pinched nerve and muscle pain from that. I've been taking alleve and it's all better.

Glad to see you back, Jennine! You're doing an awful lot - are you getting sore? My doc told me not to go anywhere for 2 weeks. It's harder than it sounded when he said it. The flea market/thrift store thing sounds like fun.

Moss - I bet you are right about the pinched nerve and the position I was in during surgery, because my hip pain is all on the right hand side. I also feel like my bones are bruised. especially my pelvic bone (just on the right side). Most of my large fibroids were of the right side of my uterus.

Keep us updated on your situation. The tension between you and your DH should fade soon. Remember, as a good friend tells me every day, "Relax, Relate, Relief." Things will get better.

Hi Moss!
Yes, it was fun! I homeschool my kids (7 and 9), so I am always looking for educational stuff. I found a really good book on dinosaurs that looks brand new for $1 and a science 3D book that has the glasses you wear and look at the parts of a cell and other neat science stuff for $1! I love to find deals!! I am tired now though!

I am really not having a lot of pain from the hysterectomy- my main issue is my legs- they seem to hurt all the time. Even when I spend the day in bed they hurt. At first I thought it was because I did too much walking, but the same thing happens when I don't- so go figure!! I talked to the nurse about it- told her the leg pain is similar to the pain I had during chemo- she said if my legs get hot to the touch or red to call right away- none of that is happening!

Take Care!

Jennine, that sounds like a blast! I have never been to a flea market but my aunt is always talking about the one in so. California that she goes to. I am so jealous!
Glad you are cathing better! You will be done with that thing real soon.
I had that same pain in my legs for about a week. Right at the top and sort of front/inside of the leg. My left one would cramp up in that area. It was very painful. It did go away but I figured it was the position and just needed to get on a different track with the poor legs.

Hey Girls!

It seems like more people are writing about the leg pain- I don't remember mine starting until Sunday- but the nurse said it could be from the way they were during surgery- and it was around 4 hours- just weird how it started that long after surgery.

Thank you Heidi!!

Take Care!

Greetings from Newbie in IL.

I'm 52 soon to be 53 and had a TAH/BSO on 8/02 due to fibroids, came home on the 5th. My bladder got nicked so I came home with a Foley Cath. I go for a Cystogram on Monday and then hopefully the cath will come out. I have one really sore sport on the right side of my belly and my back hurts, aside from tiring easily I guess I'm doing ok. I broke the record at the hospital for post-op TAH laps around the floor. I don't have much of an appetite, I lost 8.4 pounds over the last two weeks, I weighed in at Weightwatchers this morning.
Hope you all are doing well.

Yes, I had a port the first time too, and my port scar is the worst of all my scars too! I hate it. Well, my abdominal scar will be the worst now. The incision looks good as far as healing, but it's UGLY!!!

I don't know what I'll do this time. I'm really honestly debating NOT doing any chemotherapy this time, since the end result is going to be the same. I want my time left to be without chemo side effects, ya know?

I'm glad you're cathing less! I can't believe you still have to do it. It sounds like it's definitely getting better though.

Welcome ILflasher. Great name
Good job on walking the floor! That is awesome. And good job on your weigh in! Were you surprised? Sometimes I wished I didn't have much of an appetite but I am always hungry.
And just think, as the swelling goes down you could loose more.
Nice to see you!
