I had my 2 week post-op visit last Wed., and everything is fine. The doc says I can drive and do more activity, just be careful. He said not to stand for more than an hour, and to be very careful not to get constipated. I can go for half hour walks.

I've had insomnia off and on - doing lots of worrying when I wake up.

It's been helping me a lot to read all of your posts. Thanks, ladies!

I had my 48th birthday Friday. It definitely wasn't one of my better birthdays. Things are just hard right now and I don't have much support. Sorry I'm such a downer this morning. Thanks for letting me vent.
Awww sweetie, you DO have support!!! We're all here for you. I'm sorry you're not getting what you need at home. I can kind of relate, but hang in there. I think you're doing amazing!

Happy Belated Birthday! Why didn't you tell us on FRIDAY, silly girl?

The most interesting part of the recovery has occurred after the swelling began to subside. The internal pain and twinges could be felt then. Even sitting seems to "bother" my insides! The other bothersome side effect to the surgery has been numbness in my upper left leg. It actually makes walking difficult. The Dr. said it will go away. I'm still waiting, 3 wks later for a change!

Family and friend support has been phenomenal. I don't think I could have done it without them.

Good luck to my fellow Sisters.

Pam
Oddly enough, I'm not really having ANY pain internally, which I think is weird. Every now and again, I will get "crampy" and I have pressure when I pee, but other than that, my only pain is this incision (and wound).

I wish everyone a very speedy recovery!

I went back to work yesterday, Wednesday will be my 3 week day. The doc said if I took it very easy and only worked half days, came home if I felt overtired and no lifting for 6 more weeks, then I could go back. Well, Saturday's we are open from 9-2 and it was a bit too much for me. I was very tired and very sore when I got home. Mon-Thurs, though, there are no patients between 12-2 and I will be working from 9-1:30, so it should be easier. I think yesterday it was the constant getting up to deal with patients that made me so sore--Monday, the other 2 will have to understand, that can't be happening.

I always push myself too hard, I guess this is no exception. I do work for a doctor and only 1 mile from home--so I think I will do ok. There is even a GYN in our complex and an MRI for my head if it needs examined!

I wish you all well, I do feel for those of you still in pain.

Yes, 15 year olds can get a beginner's permit, but they have to have a licensed driver (21 yrs old or older) in the vehicle with them. She got her permit in May and she scares me to death when she's driving. Parking for her is a big problem, I don't think she has parked straight yet. Plus it doesn't help that we have a Yukon XL. I'm telling you, my blood pressure will definitely be up!!! I did tell her that after my doctor's appointment, she can take me to this nursey that I love, so I can buy myself a present (a new houseplant). I think deserve it!!

LOL @ dropping your bladder on the dance floor. That's cute!

Take the Percocet and go to bed. Did you have fun dancing? Yes you did! Did you do major damage to your body? Of course not. Sounds like a Percocet is a small price to pay for an evening of fun!
