Greetings Hystergals,

I went to the Dr. today and she has released me to go back to work this Monday, a couple of half days at first, then as tolerated. I am free of restrictions!!!!!!! I can even start exercising. Thursday the 23rd I'll be 3 weeks post-op from a TAH/BSO. No spotting, just a little flashing! I will still be cautious and not do anything stupid, but I feel pretty darn good. I've lost 10lbs since surgery. "The Change" has multiple meanings for me, but so far they are good. Good thoughts and prayers for all of you gals.

Hi ladies

Ledette and The Gardener..thank you for responding to my post about recovery from LSH.

Overall the surgery went well and my recovery has been relatively smooth tho definately some ups and downs. I am sooo glad to be rid of these fibroids. I avoided surgery soo long b/c of the fear of surgery..now I wish I'd done this 2 years ago.

My MD is a specialist in laps..I was fortunate to be referred to him. I am also a medical professional in the same HMO where I received treatment, but work at a different hospital than where I got my LSH because only 2 of our hospitals do them. In any case, the surgeon was wonderful, but I got so anxious and maybe angry too about how he said I would be back at work after 2 weeks, he knew it b/c he is experienced in this. And then only wrote me off for 2 weeks in my pre op appt which was just 3 days before the surgery. He is also very aware of the demands of my work schedule b/c of my profession . I think part of this is the HMO philosphophy about getting everyone back to work asap.

After 2 weeks, I knew I did not have the energy to go back..so I called his office and he did give me another 2 weeks.

This website is wonderful. I will admit i've been lurking for at least 2 months..maybe too scared to post and also was learnning to navigate it.

Ditto.. My boyfriend has gotten to calling me a crybaby. Anything can upset me and make me cry. I was sensitive before but now it seems I cry over anything .

Good luck.

Ok ladies - does anyone have advice? I was lying on the couch and my dog (20 lb) jumped up right on my tummy. I'm afraid it hurt something inside. What do you think? I'm going to call the doctor's office tomorrow, but do you think I need to call now? I'm thinking probably not, I'm just panicking. It doesn't hurt that much. I'm just afraid after reading the 3-4 weeks post-op thing from this site about adhesions, etc.

OUCH! I would call your doc, but it would seem to me that if any damage was done, you would be in pain. Our doggies don't realize that we're hurting and they just want to be near us (or in your case, ON YOU, LOL.)

What kind of furbaby do you have Moss?

Good luck.

I started bawling today over a commercial on television. Ok, in my defense, it was a baby commercial, and the realization that I will never give birth hit me, but still...it was a commercial, LOL.

WOW! My doc just agreed to let me drive, after almost 3 weeks. I can't imagine exercising or working now. Please take it slow and easy. A TAH/BSO is no joke!

I wonder how many of us have lost weight because of "missing" reproductive organs. I've lost 8# myself, and it's not because I'm not eating (and I still have swelly belly.) I wonder if they put my "goodies" on a scale and actually weighed them. Hmmmmm.
