I found this post when I was surfing around the site last night. It's from a "read only" part of the "Beyond the Land of Hyster" section.

It's: https://www.hystersisters.com/vb2/sho...d.php?t=228666

It's a one year post-hyster reflection that really spoke to me. If you have time, check it out.

ktys, you always seem to say just what I am thinking! You inspired an hour long nap, and then DVD in bed afternoon. I watched Miss Potter-highly recommend it (the movie, and the afternoon in bed!)

I'm worried about Molly. Can't imagine taking a road trip and attending an emotional event while recovering and tending to her open incision situation. Hope she checks in. Amazing how we get attached to people we have never met!

That is a great POST! Absolutely, it needs to be resent to the pre op gals if it isn't something they can access.... wonder if we'd get in the doghouse sending it there?

It is like crossing the prairies in a covered wagon, you just can't imagine what the "promised land" will be like! The new world.... the healed body and the new life.

Geez that was so good it made me choke up a tear and I am not even having any hormone issues, well not the kind that make me teary eyed that is!
Thanks for sharing that.

Wow. For 4 weeks I've been reading all of your posts and I thought not much applied to me, as I had LSH and have had a pretty easy recovery compared to many of the rest of you. Then I read the post that "soonershep" found, written by a woman who had a "simple" LSH too. In tears by the time I got to the end, I realize that even if it's "easy", it's still really hard. "runningshoe" is a smart woman. Thanks, hystersisters, for making me understand that.

It is so great!! I can believe how just over night I can feel so much better. Its amazing! I have no pain, other than just a little sore to the touch. The swelling is going down more everyday. I went form one day to hateing life to the next day just feeling great. Today is looking to be a good day also. So ladies there is hope!!! Hang in there!!

Soonershep - Thank you for finding that post and sharing it with us. Yes, I too cried reading it. There is hope for all us to get our lives back and look back at all of this and use it as a learning tool. We have to pamper ourselves (no matter what type of surgery we had) first and realize that our health comes first.

I send hugs to every woman going through this, and every woman about to go though this. Recovery is going good. My surgery was on July 31. But I made the mistake of moving some furniture in my bedroom the other day and set myself back. the past two days have been preety hard. How do you know if you did damage?

first off, I have to say..GREAT POST and thanks for sharing that. I realize that just because the doc says after 29 days I have no limits anymore, to me there are limits..Men doctors I dont think realize what us women are capable of when we get the green light to live again.. I still am sore, and I dont lift heavy things, like wet clothes that need to be hung outside..even the thought of sex after 29 days terrifies me! its almost like, ARE YOU CRAZY DOCTOR?? do you not know what we just went through! Im glad I had a good recovery but I dont feel ready to fight the world just yet.. what happened to 6-8 weeks..now its 4!!! wow!
well instead of listening to him, Im going to listen to my body and what it needs. I hope you girls do the same! no furniture moving...thats to huge!!!

I guess the best way to find out is make an appointment with the doctor, and tell him/her what you did and how you feel and if you are bleeding how much and what color and if you have pain where and how bad. That would be the best way to find out, but you probably should check in with him, if you hurt still or are bleeding. If you did do some damage, he/she can fix it. If you did damage and don't get it fixed it can pop up on you when you are least expecting it, like on a vacation or on an airplane or someplace where it couuld be a disaster for you.

Better be safe and check in with the doctor. They can tell if you did any damage, in the mean time, rest and keep us informed of how you are doing. and what the doctor says, We can learn from your mistake.

Good Afternoon:

I just my 4week follow-up everything went well. I am still having more ebad feeling days than good days. My OB-GYN doctor has scheduled an appointment for me for a doppler of my leg - due the menopause medication has being forming blood clots in my leg. I am stop taking the medication and the soreness and the redness has left, but there is bruise on my leg. So she was more focused on this during my appointment time vs my TAH.

i tried to get to the POST that was suggested to read but I get to the post - Help

I don't know what happened, but the link I posted for "runnngshoe's" year after reflection isn't working today. You can still find it, though. Go to:
https://www.hystersisters.com/vb2/for...php?forumid=12

When you get there, scroll down to "memorable messages". It's the first post, titled "what I learned, and you will too..."

Good luck! (you may need a kleenex)
