So here I was, recovering away at a wonderful rate - feeling great and healthy after text book surgery followed by a blood clot in the lung.

Then I get a cold - no biggie, get over that quickly.
Then I get the cough - omg my muscles are sooooo not ready for this!

So I'm starting to get over the cough - yay I'm still intact, but then I go and do something stupid. I went to pick up an overnight bag that I thought was empty - only it wasn't. Stupid thing was full of books! Ouch...

So now I'm back to lying down as much as possible - twinging like mad, but no extreme pain fortunately.

All these obstacles thrown at me, I overcame. LOL Seems my biggest obstacle was my inability to think before I act!!

Thanks Deneen. All went well with the drive (aside from major boredem, LOL.)

Chics Lass

Hi girls

Had a pretty good weekend. Went to docs today still bleeding but she said it will settle down. A bit worried as I have never been examined since I came out hospital and dont go back to docs for another 4 weeks. Was told may not see surgeon again waiting on pathology report results if they ar ok I wont need to see her. Just need to know if everything is healing as it should is it just me?

chics - I don't know about the others, but I am constantly worrying/wondering if everything is healing properly. I worry that I'll get adhesions or need another surgery to correct something that healed wrong. I'm a worry wart. lol

Moss - I am the same way. My mother is seeing my surgeon on Thursday for a problem she is having for adhesions. She had a TAH almost 35 years ago. I told her that was my greatest fear; however, she informed me that back then the Drs basically told them after 6 to 8 weeks they could go back to their normal lives, with no restrictions, which she did. She said that at least the Drs now are more informative. So no you are not a worry wart - there are alot of us worried that something could go wrong.

Our group has been pretty quiet today- I had to go all the way to the 3rd page to find our thread! I hope everyone is doing something fun an relaxing to enjoy Labor Day. I'm ready to hear if ktys closed a big deal!

I've had a hard day. I woke up this morning with this irritating weird pain by my incision and these weird pains on my left side. I have been pretty careful, so I don't think I did anything to cause these new feelings. The incision pain is almost like a surface irritation, but I don't see anything that looks different.

I did ride (not drive) for 4 hours in the car this weekend- 2 hours there and 2 hours back, but I had a ice pack on and I really took it easy when I got to my destination. I did NOT (even though I really wanted to) go to the OU football game, I just watched from our friend's recliner.

I have been sleeping on my side again, and this morning when I woke up, I was more on my tummy than side.

Do you think either of these could have caused new pain?

I am really, really disappointed to be taking a step back in how I feel. I plan to take it REALLY easy this week. I am going to walk, use my ice pack, take vitamins, eat healthy and rest and sleep a lot. I am planning to go back to work a week from today. When I go back I want to feel like I did last Friday, not like I have been feeling today.

I hope some of you night owls get on your laptops and post tonight. I have been missing you!

Well, the weekend is over, and it turned out to be not so great. My healing is going okay, but my dog slipped out the garage door while we were working inside the garage and immediately got in a fight with a medium-sized dog being walked in front of the house. My husband grabbed our dog, but not before the other dog got bitten and needed stitches for a 2 inch gash. It was awful, I feel terrible. We will be paying the vet bill for the other dog's stitches of course, but I am shocked at my dog who is normally very sweet. But, he is part border collie so has chased a smaller dog once before...which is why I am normally careful and he is on leash. What a crummy horrible accident. The other owners are being very accommodating so far, but how would you feel? My dog has been through three obedience classes and consistent training...I'm not a slacker owner. But now I question this dog, it freaked me out. I've written a formal apology and have been in contact to check on the other dog several times, but this stress has me falling to pieces.

Sorry for the off-topic update, it's just filling my mind at the moment.

I hope everyone else is okay...

i haven't been getting updates that anyone has posted. you know me, i always have something to say.
I don't always log on to the site as much any more and rely on those reminder updates of a new post. I just only seem to get them once in a while.

i'm doing just fine and 100% back at the gym.

Remember we all heal differently -- pick up that phone and call your doctor's office if you have any concerns.

And I am so sorry about the issue with your dog. I own a rare breed dog and one we have to be very careful with. So I can certainly sympathize with you.
