BettyBoopFun, I have decided at this point to go without the HRT and stick to eating/drinking lots of soy products and taking calcium. The worst problems that I have had without an HRT is a few hot flashes and night sweats which is nothing that I can't handle at this point. I too will be reviewing options with my doctor (just in case). There is still too many "what ifs" as far as HRT is concerned and being a cancer survivor, I don't feel like there is enough information about long term issues (HRT) for me to decide to take them yet. I'm sure if you speak to your doctor and give all of your symptoms, a decision either way should be relatively easy to make. Please let me know what your doctor suggests....and I'll do the same for you after my appointment.

Abbymonique,
How much soy do you have to take to compensate for the hormones? What form do you take it in? I had Lupron before my surgery and was sent into chemical menopause, with hotflashes from hell.....I really don't want to experience that again.

You can still keep in touch right here at Hystersisters. Other members have started a new thread for their group in our Clubhouse forum. Here's the link if you wish to start a thread for your group.

The reason that the "recovery progress thread" is closed after 8 weeks is because most women have basically recovered and gone back to their normal routines after that time period and the thread fills up with chatter. All the more reason to start your own 'chat' thread in our Clubhouse forum.

I have not had my period since 07/17/07 and today I actually feel like I'm having it. The crampy feeling and actually feel like I'm having discharge, but there is no discharge. It would have been the time for my period, but last month I didn't have any feelings like this. Strange, huh?

Daneen, I felt the same way yesterday! I was totally freaked out. I actually stopped what I was doing and asked myself "Did I have a hysterectomy this summer, or was that all a dream?" I had pressure in the lower are of my abdomen, it was a strong pressure but enough to make me think I should get up and run to the bathroom for a pad. lol
I did go the bathroom and make sure everything was okay and everything was fine. It left after a while but I know exactly what you mean.

Ladies ~ how about starting a thread here. I actually prefer to read threads here rather than on yahoo. I also figure that if we are here then it is easier to help others pre op/post-op. But I usually bring up another window anyhow.

Howdy everyone.

Well my bleeding stopped Sunday morning. Yipee. I called the doctor yesterday and he said NO SEX until AFTER 6 weeks. (Oopsie!)

Deneen, to answer your question.. I wasn't thinking about much except one thing. (hehe)

So I will try again on Friday or Monday, as I will be out of town this weekend away from my sweetie.

I'm not cramping as much either. Doing pretty good actually. Except for another UTI and another round of Antibotics and Diflican for the inevitable yeast infection, I guess I can't complain much.

I still get tired A LOT. I wonder when I will start having energy back. Is everyone else having energy issues?

Ok. I am making it short and sweet today.

Take care everyone!

Heidi, thanks for setting this up. I'll set it up in my favorites and we can use this to keep in touch after our other thread is removed.

You are very organized! Thanks for keeping us together!
